This nursery was designed with lots of color. Pink reigned but was toned down with black and white as well as green and blue. Since the mother likes vintage things, we wanted to add some great pieces that she could appreciate while being in the space with her daughter.
We created a calming neutral nursery design for a client in Los Angeles who wanted a room which could be used for a nursery multiple times without needing to change the decor. Since the parents are world-travelers we designed a sophisticated global themed room.
I didn’t set out with any particular “theme” in mind for this room but once I decided to DIY that starry ceiling version of one of my favorite wallpapers, it all came together. From that one point of inspiration a loose celestial theme evolved – light and peaceful with touches of dark wood to warm things up and loads of different textures. Lila’s nursery is a whimsical mix of color, print, and design. I wanted to incorportate my chevron obession (without going overboard) and give the nursery a colorful and bright feel that could grow with my daughter. Since this is my third baby, I wanted to be a little wild… and decided to make a statement with the dark pink dresser and white glider. Totally impractical? Maybe. Fabulous for design? Absolutely. It’s my third… no rules apply, right?
This is Hooper’s big boy room! We wanted to created a space that worked for him as he transitioned out of a crib and into a big boy bed, but that would also be able to grow with him as he got older.
I wanted to create a space that was modern and sophisticated so it would appeal to me and my husband yet still be fun, cute, and childish so our baby boy would grow to love it.
We didn’t have nine months to create a nursery for Collin, as we only found out two days before Collin was born, that we had been picked by his birthmom to adopt. We took him home to an empty nursery. We had the necessities but no cute room to bring him home too. But it was fun to create Collin’s nursery during those first few months of his life. We went through a lot of years of infertility, loss and heartache trying to start our little family. That all went away when we held our little boy for the first time. For me the room captures that feeling of holding him the first time. It makes me happy and I always feel peaceful while in his room.
I focused on a modern nursery that would easily transition with Audrey as she grows. A baby’s room that wasn’t too “baby” or overly girlie. Her parents are young, cool, and hip…and that’s what I wanted to convey in the design. Baby Audrey did her best to let me know what she liked too–lots of swirls and lots of kicking.
We are expecting an arrival of two little miracles sometime around Thanksgiving and wanted to created a special place for them. We love the way it turned out and hope our boys will love it too!
This nursery was an absolute work of love by my mom. She is a DIY queen and the result is a room that is completely DIY, hand-me-down or re-purposed. The only thing bought was the bookshelf.
We bought my in-laws house four months before my first son was born. We had so much fun changing my husband’s brother’s old room into a nursery.
Our little boy’s nursery has bright cheery colors and fun colorful designs. We kept the walls of our gust room blue and added white furniture with colorful accents to make a fun playroom for Luke filled with lots of books and stuffed animals galore.
