I wanted the room to be peaceful and warm, yet with sections of vibrant colors to create an aestically pleasing vision for my baby. I got many ideas from Project Nursery and Pinterest.
We made one of the wall stand out with colors in a chevron design. The shelves, the Disney pictures and the Penelope Bird Mobile were all DYI projects that added a personal touch to the room.
The Nursery was inspired by wanting to achieve a fun, bright, colorful and inviting room. At the same time, we also wanted the nursery to grow with baby so we created a playful reading nook and toy section.
When we decided to do my baby boy’s nursery (August of last year) the first thought was turquoise and lots and lots of other colors!!!.
We for the baby’s room way before I knew what the gender was. Around August of last year, we bought polka dot decals for the room because I was obsessed with it . The hubby and I put it up and it was…. love at first sight!!
My goal was to have a bright and cheerful nursery for my baby girl that could easily grow with her into a big girl room.
Teresa’s nursery is whimsical and sweet without being too girly. I tried to use different textures and patterns, delicate images and references. We were on a limited budget, but it’s incredible how much you can do! The painting was done by my mother-in-law, the dresser refinished by my husband, and lots of DIY projects. Each project made us so proud! It took time, energy and love to make this dream nursery for baby Teresa.
This project had a strict budget so most of the items were DIY. I did not want her nursery to have a theme, because I am always changing things! The room was small so I tried not to go overboard with a lot of different colors and focused on small details for character. I hope it is a room she grows up to love! :)
This room was once our den converted into a guest room. It was dark and cozy with red walls. It will still once in a while need to serve as a guest room, but it is now the nursery for our baby boy :) The problem with a den is that is has no closet, hence two dressers. It is still missing crown molding, but not sure if we can actually make it happen before the arrival :)
A baby girl’s nursery featuring the color pink in a fun way, lots of second-hand furniture, DIY decor, and heirloom pieces. More details can be found on my blog: http://dualey.wordpress.com/2012/06/21/lydias-nursery/
Chevron Stripes, bright colors, and a fun swinging chair give my little baby girl’s nursery a hip, fun vibe — with just a touch of girl and a lot of fun!
Mom & Dad weren’t afraid of a nursery that incorporated color and lots of it! They were inspired by the pretty hues of cotton candy to create a bright, modern and not too serious space for their little girl.
Converted a fun playroom into a pink & aqua baby girl nursery using existing pieces, borrowed items, and hand-me-downs while staying on a budget!
I wanted a space that was light, airy and filled with things meant to inspire creativity. I knew Stella, Ralph and I would spend a lot of time in here and I wanted it to be a beautiful respite.
A chic nursery full of textures and patterns for our sweet girl.
Obsessed with all things vintage. This was the perfect/cheap DIY project I had in mind for our little princess.
We made Avett’s room a yellow and gray vintage train room.
My daughter’s first birthday party. I had so much fun organizing it and tried to do as much as I could myself.
Pinwheels and PomPoms first birthday bash! Not a detail missed. Mom handmade mostly all the details including the beautiful pom pom wreath.
I wanted a unique but colorful nursery, but not typical.
I wanted something fun yet girly, pink but not too much pink… I think its suites my sweet girl just right ;)
