We moved into a new home while I was 26 weeks pregnant. I knew instantly this room would be our daughter’s nursery. I loved the natural light flooding in. It was pumpkin orange when we moved in and we quickly painted it a soft pale pink. I wanted a calm peaceful space and a room our daughter go grow with.I have since added curtains and the wall above the crib is reserved for her newborn pictures (yet to be taken).
Girly Nursery
This is a simple room where almost everything is handmade or designed by us. We do not have a cradle because we already have a bed that we adjust to be more useful.
My wife and I have a two bedroom home with a large loft that was ideal for a third bedroom. When we found out we would be bringing a little one home I was able to play the part of Dad and build a nursery. This was one of the most rewarding projects I’ve ever undertaken.
As we moved house recently I had to re-create the nursery BUT she is not a baby anymore so using her existing furniture and some of my favorite nursery items(in turquoise) I made her a whole new room, in her favoirte colour PINK. I bought her new pictures appropriate for her age and displayed them in this modern sort of way above her now converted toddler bed. She has quite a few hand made items like her quilt and dolls. She also has a play room so this space is reserved for sleeping and her very favorite toys, books and keepsakes.
