Hot Air Balloon Toddler Room

During designing my son bedroom I was focused on details and colors. I wanted to add some unique accents, which is hard to find in regular stores. My idea was to use and mix few colors like green, yellow and navy blue and still stay in minimal look. You can find here a vintage pieces and some modern accents as well. I use wallpaper on one wall and green paint to get more color to bedroom. I feel this room is perfect for my toddler.

Ariella’s Tutti Frutti 5th Birthday!

My daughter, Ariella, LOVED the color orange.  When we were deciding upon the theme for her 5th birthday party, she randomly said “Oranges!”  Which led us down the road of fruit, and which eventually led us to a Tutti Frutti theme for her latest birthday party.  I loved this theme, the only problem is that her birthday is in January, a time of year here in which lots of fruity decorations are hard to find!!  Luckily, we decided on her theme about 6 months in advance, which completely saved me!  I shopped all summer long for fruit decorations, plates, pitchers, tablecloths, plates, etc.  Hooray for Summer!
I designed the Kawaii fruit print and confetti invitations and other graphic items which are for sale in my Etsy shop, Emily Entertains.  I just adore the cute little smiling Kawaii faces on these fruits.  I looked high and low for vinyl wall decals of these Kawaii fruits, but I really wasn’t able to find any, so I ended up using my Silhouette cutting machine and cut out a TON of fruity walls decals.  This was a painstakingly slow process, as I had to layer on the leaves, stems, and faces, but I loved the look it added to the walls for the party.
One of my most favorite items was the cake.  Liz from Les Pop Sweets nailed the cake toppers to a “T”, so to speak!  I sent her a rendering I did, and she recreated it in the most amazing way!!!
Another amazing element to the party decor were the glittery fruit slices that I purchased from Lula Flora.  Christine made me extra ones that I put on all the chair backs of the dining chairs which added even more sparkly color to the party!
I added to the fruity theme with lots of healthy and fresh fruit for the kids to munch on – pineapple fruit cups, fruit and yogurt, etc.
For party favors, I did manage to find some adorable Kawaii-looking plush pineapples to give away as party favors.  I put them into cardboard berry baskets with a few other items, and the kids loved them.
I hope you find some inspiration for your little one with this cute and colorful tutti frutti party!  It’s a great theme for kids of all ages, and makes the most colorful and bright party that the kids will love!!
xx,
Emily

It’s The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown!

For our son’s first birthday, which is in October, I wanted a Halloween theme, but also something cute, not creepy. So I picked “It’s The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown!”. The main colors are yellow and black chevron and white and orange polka dots. Pumpkins were everywhere! Pumpkin balloons, pumpkin beach balls, pumpkin decorating! Pumpkin coffee, cupcakes and candy too!

Emilee’s 2nd Birthday Fiesta

I thought for sure I was throwing Emilee a strawberry party this year but when I saw a fiesta invite on Instagram from River & Bridge well I just knew it was meant to be. I’m all for throwing kids’ parties with themes you want until they can ask for a theme themselves. Em LOVES anything Frozen but I knew if I threw the Frozen party now there was no explaining to a 3 or 4 year old Emilee that “we already did that,” So I’m saving Anna and Elsa for the year she actually asks for them. Which I know she will.

Simon’s Alphabet/Geeky Nursery

We wanted a nursery that was functional, fun, gender neutral, and showcased our love for all things GEEK.  We picked out the crib bedding first – Babyletto Alphabet – and used the bright colors and alphabet items in it all around the room.  We used graphic prints inspired by our favorite sci-fi shows and movies as most of the artwork and even had Gillian Anderson (Scully/X-Files) sign one for Simon!

Asher’s Natural Explorer Nursery

I had no real plan for this nursery when I started out beyond liking gray and orange.  The first item I purchased was the cow rug and the rest of the room kind of evolved from there.
Many items in the room were repurposed.  For example, the dresser and chest were my mom’s when she was a little girl, just repainted with new hardware. Likewise, the suitcases were already in the guest room. I had actually just moved them out of the way when we were positioning the crib and they ended up staying there.
We had originally planned built in bookcases but as my due date neared and my nesting reached critical levels, we opted for the plumbing pipe shelving for the sake of speed.  Once installed though, I couldn’t be happier with the choice.

Little Man’s Airplane Third Birthday Party

My little guy has been obsessed with two things this year: trains and airplanes. Since he told us he wanted to be a Thomas for Halloween, airplane was the winner for the birthday theme as the day falls about 10 days after Halloween.
This year (the whole year) I have been testing and trying dairy/egg/soy free baking recipes. Ahaan is allergic to them but LOVES cakes and cupcakes. Last year, we had ordered a dairy/egg/soy free cake for his birthday. Which made me wonder about baking them at home instead of paying fortune to someone else. So the whole year, I tried and tested numerous recipes.
When his birthday rolled around, I was prepared….more or less. I baked all of the desserts (cakes, cupcakes, cookies and cake pops). I also baked white bread for kids’ sandwiches (since store brought bread has dairy on them).
I wasn’t sure if I could pull it off. But I think it turned out good. I was satisfied. I also DIYed a lot of decors and signs to ensure it matched the color scheme I had in mind.
Kids had a blast (I think) and adults enjoyed (I hope). :)
