Tribeca – Owl Nursery

Interior Designer – EMC2 Interiors in NYC / The mural in this modern owl nursery was painted for twins. It’s neutral and airy. I chose to use the corner space because it’s where your eye is drawn. The height of the ceiling added to the design. It was painted to fit exactly in this space. I loved the fabrics and colors the designer chose. She has wonderful and fresh ideas. On the opposite wall she had built ins with a foldaway bed that doubled as a chalkboard for the kids. The cribs she picked are from designer David Netto.

Safari Nursery

We raised our hands to knock on the door of Client E’s 2nd story apartment and were greeted by a sweet brunette with her hand on her belly. There’s nothing better as a nursery designer than seeing how each new client reacts to her first pregnancy. After the introductions, she explained to us her hopes of creating a Safari theme nursery in her spall apartment loft space. E wanted her baby boy’s room to be sophisticated yet whimsical and detailed her favorite colors as taupe, khaki and olive green. When looking for boy’s nursery ideas, E had settled on one thought for her nursery furniture: dark. Naturally, we presented her with our favorite espresso changing table and slate iron crib from Bratt Decor. Next, we delved into fabrics, gathering earthy silks and sateens for her luxurious custom crib bedding set. Even in her small space, our floor plan allowed for a cozy nursery glider, topped with throw pillows and their family heirloom plush monkey – “CoCo”.
