Modern safari nursery

My client and her husband honeymooned in Africa and we decided a subtle elephant safari nursery would be a lovely nod to that trip.  I don’t love to design overly themed rooms so you won’t find a lot of traditional safari elements in the room.  Instead, I chose to incorporate some subtler elements and keep the overall look really light and happy but with some textures to warm it up.  The room is small and wasn’t all that interesting to start out with.  Some wide horizontal stripes and a coral pink ceiling fixed that.

Baby Daniel’s “Out of Africa” Nursery

A modern safari themed nursery designed by Widell Designs for a stylish baby boy. Wanted to design something playful yet calming for both baby and mommy.

We do not know if we are having a boy or a girl. We wanted the nursery to be bright and fun. We also wanted it to have more of an eclectic feel and not a theme. It was important to us for the room to be colorful but having some of the main pieces remain neutral. Getting this space ready has been the highlight of my pregnancy.
