Proud to be Y-Orchid

Loved putting our little girls nursery together! Orchid Purple paint by Behr with black and white stripes make her room able to grow with her. This nursery will easily convert to her big girl room as she gets older with Lavender damask linens, Lavender purple comforter and black and white striped lamp and storage accents. We found an old telephone table at a yard sale and painted it the same Orchid Purple and the black and white marble book shelf was a steal at Home Goods. Her nursery set was found at Nebraska Furniture Mart and the glider is from BuyBuy Baby. Special touches also include a handmade mobile, curtains and name sign as well as a Lemonlee Doll and her sisters painted heartbeat. All this has me saying “I’m proud to be y-orchid, Enslie!”

Princess Nursery in Lavender with Glitter Wall

This lavender princess nursery is truly regal with a custom glitter wall as the focal point. Sweet lavender accents on creamy white silk add just enough color to this custom girl’s nursery fit for royalty. Creamy velvet nursery glider and ottoman set feature a fun fringe accent around the skirting. The custom six-arm nursery chandelier glistens with crystals and the feathered chandelier shades and lamp shades add a fun touch of whimsy to this lucky baby girl’s nursery. Notice the huge crystal finials on the custom curtain rod…they pick up the lighting and really sparkle! The beautiful distressed gray crib features an upholstered headboard and footboard in sweet gray linen, adding a soft French Country touch to this elegant nursery. Cupcake Baby Sprinkle

My good friend Meaghan and her husband found out last summer that they were expecting their second child, a girl, this February. Three of her close friends (Maylissa, Meghan, and Foullone) and I joined forces as fellow aunties and decided to plan a surprise event for her this time around. We aimed for a small, but meaningful gathering, in which her family and friends could be there for her, her husband (who was in on the surprise), and her son (Check out his Peanut and Elephant Baby Shower in my gallery!) in celebration of a soon-to-be new addition to their growing family.

Addison’s Flower and Fairy Garden

Addison’s big girl room was designed by her Mom.  A sparkling flower garden was painted around her bed and I added a few whimsical fairies throughout the garden. The flowers and fairies are bejeweled with crystals and glitter paint. Her name was also hand-painted to match the room.  The quote on the wall is “Like glittering dust on fairy wings, little girl dreams are of magical things.”

Sparkly Cherry Blossom Nursery

This beautiful nursery was designed by the mommy-to-be, who has since become a mommy. The fabrics are lavender, silver and white. The bedding is lilac-gray-silver damask bedding by Carousel Designs. I painted a soft metallic silvery Cherry Blossom tree that shimmers and is embellished with crystals. The quote above the changing table says
“From the moment I first saw you I have been waiting for you.You know I will adore you….til eternity…”~Be My Baby lyrics

Annabel’s Nursery

After having three boys I was BEYOND excited to design a nursery for my little girl, but I still didn’t want to go over the top frou frou. The rest of our house is a nice mix of modern and classic so I wanted to make sure the room would flow while at the same time providing Annabel (and me!) with one place that was undeniably feminine. What started out as a purely modern project morphed slightly into a mix between mid-century modern and 60’s Boudoir style, and I absolutely love the way it turned out.

Transitional Lavender Grey Nursery

I wanted the nursery to be as adult friendly as possible, yet have the potential to easily transition into a child-friendly nursery with a few simple adjustments. Everything in the nursery is budget friendly and DYI. The nursery can be cleaned very easily – all of the furniture can be wiped down, the linens/curtains washed, and the rug taken outside and beaten. Since this is a girl’s room, I included lavender for a feminine touch, but avoided the fou fou of a girly princess room. The grey and the yellow, neutralizes the purple creating a balance making the room calm and relaxing.
