Hot Air Balloon Toddler Room

During designing my son bedroom I was focused on details and colors. I wanted to add some unique accents, which is hard to find in regular stores. My idea was to use and mix few colors like green, yellow and navy blue and still stay in minimal look. You can find here a vintage pieces and some modern accents as well. I use wallpaper on one wall and green paint to get more color to bedroom. I feel this room is perfect for my toddler.

Rosie’s Feminine and Fresh Pink, Green and Gold Nursery

This is a nursery I designed for my daughter.  So fun being my own client ;).  I have three wonderful boys and when I was expecting baby number 4, I was hoping so badly for a girl.  My pregnancy was a tough one with lots of worries.  A couple of months before we found out the gender, I was in bed with the flu and pneumonia and just so sick.  I spent days and sleepless nights planning this nursery- I think it got me through!  Finding out we were having a girl and then watching the room come to life was incredible and such a rewarding experience. We are renting, so with that comes some tricky challenges to overcome, but I’m so pleased with the result and I feel like I can move the room to a new home and that the pieces can really grow with my daughter as she gets older.

Emilee’s 2nd Birthday Fiesta

I thought for sure I was throwing Emilee a strawberry party this year but when I saw a fiesta invite on Instagram from River & Bridge well I just knew it was meant to be. I’m all for throwing kids’ parties with themes you want until they can ask for a theme themselves. Em LOVES anything Frozen but I knew if I threw the Frozen party now there was no explaining to a 3 or 4 year old Emilee that “we already did that,” So I’m saving Anna and Elsa for the year she actually asks for them. Which I know she will.

Simon’s Alphabet/Geeky Nursery

We wanted a nursery that was functional, fun, gender neutral, and showcased our love for all things GEEK.  We picked out the crib bedding first – Babyletto Alphabet – and used the bright colors and alphabet items in it all around the room.  We used graphic prints inspired by our favorite sci-fi shows and movies as most of the artwork and even had Gillian Anderson (Scully/X-Files) sign one for Simon!

A 3 year old’s new room; a DIY family affair and labor of love

This is my daughter’s room in our new home in Charlotte, NC where we recently moved from a much smaller space in Brooklyn.  This move was a big transition for my daughter, so it was very important that it feel familiar and cozy, yet exciting and girly at the same time. Many, if not most, of the design elements in the room, including the drapery, artwork, and chest of drawers, were either handmade or painted by myself or a family member. It is truly a room made from love, with personal touches that could not have been found in any store.
