Gray and Yellow You are My Sunshine Themed Nursery
Gender neutral nursery with different patterns and textures.
with our first child on the way, we wanted to create a serene environment for her nursery with imagination running wild. the best way to do this was to theme her nursery after story books. with some vintage book covers as decoration and soft colors of yellow and gray, we hope she loves it as much as we do!
I’m a planner, so I think it surprised people that I didn’t want to find out the gender of our baby before he was born. I’d always known I wanted the nursery to be neutral (if we have more children, it will be shared because we live in a small house), so I didn’t need to know the gender in planning the nursery. I choose a neutral color palette and furniture that would grow with our child. I also let practical elements, like toys, books, and a magnet board become part of the design of the room since the space is rather small (with low ceilings too!).
I wanted to use Grey’s and Yellows. I fell in love with the idea of a yellow dresser and so we designed the room around that. I mixed some modern prints with more vintage looks. We ordered a majority of the things from Etsy and bought a lot of the big items on craigslist to save money!
This was a baby shower done in tones of Grey’s & Yellow’s. It was simple, modern and oh so sweet!
We didn’t find out what we were having beforehand, so we needed a gender neutral theme. But I also knew that even if we knew whether we were having a boy or girl, we weren’t the type of people to have a very gender-specific nursery with lots of pinks or blues. We are both native New Yorkers, so we went with an urban city baby theme. I got most of my ideas for various projects from this site, blogs and etsy and just went for it.
Bright and Fresh Neutral Nursery
I wanted a nursery with clean girly look but not candy sweet, so decided on gray, mustard yellow and pink color palette
I had the honor of hosting and planning a baby shower for my beautiful sister-in-law expecting her first baby for our family.
