Soft Pink, Gold and Ivory Shabby Chic Nursery

When we found out we were having a girl (we have a 9 year old son), I immediately wanted to go with soft pinks, golds, and ivory/creams for the her room. Which is crazy because I always said if I every have a girl I will never go with pink! And several months before I found out I was pregnant, I started liking pink. That should have been an indicator right then, but I was clueIess..LOL!  I was going to go with a princess type theme, but then changed my mind after searching Pinterest for different ideas. At first, the room was going to be more centered around the crown teester, but then I wanted more of a shabby chic and sophisticated nursery. Soft pinks with different shades of gold and ivory/creams throughout the room. I made her crib bedding (with the exception of the crib rail guard), flower curtain tie backs, personalized pillows(on the chaise), changing pad cover, and double sided door stopper. My brother painted my son’s old crib in a metallic gold/champagne. Also, I made a liner for the bassinet/stroller piece that will be her hamper and then could be used for dolls or whatever she would like! We removed the closet door and I went with the curtains instead. So happy with the way her room turned out!!!

Rosie’s Feminine and Fresh Pink, Green and Gold Nursery

This is a nursery I designed for my daughter.  So fun being my own client ;).  I have three wonderful boys and when I was expecting baby number 4, I was hoping so badly for a girl.  My pregnancy was a tough one with lots of worries.  A couple of months before we found out the gender, I was in bed with the flu and pneumonia and just so sick.  I spent days and sleepless nights planning this nursery- I think it got me through!  Finding out we were having a girl and then watching the room come to life was incredible and such a rewarding experience. We are renting, so with that comes some tricky challenges to overcome, but I’m so pleased with the result and I feel like I can move the room to a new home and that the pieces can really grow with my daughter as she gets older.

Emerson’s Soft Woodland Nursery

It was so fun putting together this nursery for our first born. We wanted a feminine nursery with woodland accents.  All items were hand selected from a variety of stores to keep the room unique and personal.  Our idea was for the nursery to be transitional for Emerson as she grows.  Furnishings and accents were chosen with a less juvenile feel with the hope that she will enjoy them for years to come.

Girly and Floral Big Girl Room

I couldn’t find any bedding that I loved enough for my daughters room. I didn’t want to paint and I wanted to keep her black furniture from her nursery, along with some wall hangings and lamps so I needed to find something that incorporated all those colors. I found one option but it was unavailable so I decided if I can’t find what I want, I’m just going to make it. B had this Matilda Jane Platinum top that I fell in love with and it dawned on me that I should try and use that as inspiration for her room. So using her top inspiration I decorated a floral and girly room for my daughter. I added a lot of little personal touches and ended up doing a lot of DIY projects. Scanning the aisles of Michael’s can sometimes be a dangerous thing ;)

Preppy, Modern Pink & Green Girl’s Room

This preppy girl’s room was inspired by the hot pink cubes.  When I saw them on ebay, I had to have them and design a room around them!  We used Annie Selk fabric with graphic and geometric prints in hot pink and green with hints of blue and red.  The drapes and pillows were custom with the fabric.  The chair is re-upholstered also in Annie Selk fabric and painted white (ebay find).  The dresser and side table are also vintage and have been re-painted.  The lamp is from TJ Maxx and the owl lamp from Target.  Frames from Ikea and canvas storage bins from Pottery Barn Kids.  Duvet cover and euro sham from PB Teen.  Prints from Etsy & deco pillow from etsy.  Please contact me for any other details on sources used for this room.
