Preppy Barnyard Bash Birthday

For my little boy’s second birthday, I was inspired by the things Oliver loves – animals and the great outdoors.  I chose a Barnyard theme and had the party outdoors at a local barn.  That big red barn was the perfect setting for Oliver’s big day, and it turned out even better than I envisioned.  I chose a sweet, boyish color scheme of blue and green, and I focused on some of his favorite barnyard animals.  I wanted to add in some preppy touches to the party, and I did that simply by choosing some blue gingham accents.  When throwing a party, I like to mix and match inexpensive elements along with more custom designs.  For example, on the dessert table, I usually splurge on one or two custom desserts and then pick up budget friendly desserts at a local grocery store or make my own.  For Oliver’s party, I added red gingham accents to the donuts and they turned out so cute!  Some of my favorite party elements were the barnyard animal macarons, the monogrammed birthday outfit, the fondant animals atop the cake, and the beautiful hydrangea centerpiece. Party guests loved the animal cookies and the little lamb cake pops. It was such a sweet day. Oliver had the best time being the center of attention and eating lots of cake, and my Momma heart was so full seeing how happy he was.
