Elegant nursery

I started designing this nursery in March 2020, right before COVID-19 wreaked havoc on NYC. Thankfully, we had already converted our 2 bedroom apartment into 3 bedrooms by adding tension walls to our dining room area in order to create a small nursery.  Since all retail stores were closed near us, I spent countless hours online shopping.
When I first started decorating, I really didn’t have a theme in mind.  I just knew I wanted it to look elegant with a pink and grey color scheme.  Once I had the essentials (the crib, changing table and recliner) I started browsing sites for decorative items.  It was then that I realized I was drawn to butterflies, flowers and bunnies so the nursery eventually took on an ethereal theme!
The room is quite small with only one dresser that doubles as a changing table so we built a shelving unit above it to display all her pretty clothes.  We also purchased a crib with a built in drawer that houses all her blankets, swaddles and other large items. Since my husband and I were both working from home due to COVID-19, we needed an additional workspace so we added a lucite desk and chair which doubled as a console table.  My favorite items in the nursery are the chandelier which brings elegance and warmth to the room, and the mobile made of butterflies and flowers which evokes a sense of peace and tranquility.
The nursery has become everyone’s favorite room in the apartment as it very cozy and quiet.  My husband takes business calls in there when I’m out with the baby, and my son plays with his toys next to the crib so he can keep an eye on his little sister (and wake her up when she’s sleeping, sigh!)

Designing this twin nursery was a dream come true for me! I wanted to create a space that was sophisticated and elegant yet as innocent and sweet as my darling babies. I was inspired by the “Blythe” cribs from Pottery Barn Baby. I knew I wanted those cribs the moment I saw them! The hot air balloon and the moon and stars with owl crib mobiles were made by me while I was in nesting mode! My husband and I worked on the tree mural project together and I am very happy with how that turned out. The large windows let a lot of sun light into the room which keeps it light and airy, perfect for my little angels!

We wanted a simple and elegant nursery for Emi, husband insisted on having pink walls but I am happy we did because I love the final result :)

This is Miss Rory Lou’s mint, pink and gold nursery. It is shabby chic, vintage, elegant, and ultra feminine all at the same time.  To me, it  is a nursery fit for the girliest of girls.

River’s Nursery is completely DIY. I’m an Etsy shop owner, so of course I had to make my own daughters nursery! I love purple! I find it to be girly, but not over powering. Rivers room is at this moment being remodeled again. With new crib bedding and decorations.

Baby Nahla’s Nursery is a modern twist on a classic Rococo Interior. The nursery has a graceful upholstered wall of colorful butterflies that serves not only as the focal point of the Nursery, but also makes the room feel warm and quiet. It features classic lush silk drapery, fun multicolor pompom drapery trim and fine Victorian furniture in an elegant eggshell finish. The modern twist to the Nursery is the graphic faux carousel canopy painted in beautiful bold colors on the ceiling.

This is our baby nursery!  We are so excited to welcome our first child in our home!

An elegant and sweet nursery.

My husband and I worked on this nursery and couldn’t be happier with the way it turned out!!!! He painted and did all the trim work with my bro in law. We are so proud of this room and every minute spent of it was so worth it! DIY is so rewarding!!! Can’t wait for our bundle of joy!!!!

Not knowing the gender of our baby, I wanted to keep the room gender netural so all of our future babies could use the room. I always loved the Beatrix Potter movies and remember growing up watching them. I’m not a fan of nurerys that “scream baby.”
