Aiden’s Milk, Cookies, and Mustaches Party

Much to my delight, Aiden requested a mustache party! Yes, it’s been done but I loved mustaches (found them hilarious) before they were trendy so I was really excited.
Plus it’s perfect for Aiden who is one of the smartest kids I know but a total goofball who loves his milk and of course, loves cookies.
I did as many DIYs as possible to keep the costs down and to make the party personal.

Adler’s Room

This was what we did prior to baby Adler being born.  We painted the walls a dark gray.  Re-purposed and painted an old dresser green to use for a changing table.  Re finished the rocker with a simple coat of white paint.  And to top it all off we made a magnetic chalk board wall behind the crib and trimmed it out to make it pop.  Lastly added a few floating book shelves, a lamp, some accessories and a rug to match the color scheme and we now have a wonderful baby room!

Lila’s Chevron Nursery

Lila’s nursery is a whimsical mix of color, print, and design. I wanted to incorportate my chevron obession (without going overboard) and give the nursery a colorful and bright feel that could grow with my daughter. Since this is my third baby, I wanted to be a little wild… and decided to make a statement with the dark pink dresser and white glider. Totally impractical? Maybe. Fabulous for design? Absolutely. It’s my third… no rules apply, right?

Shelving Facelift

We have always liked to come up with new and creative ways to decorate with wall decals that will give diy enthusiasts or anyone decorating on a budget affordable, yet still stylish and fresh design solutions. One project we had not yet tried was applying decals to the back of a shelf and on the surface of a shelf so we decided to give it a try. We chose the “Flora Stripes” removable, reusable decal design from Wallforalldecals.com b/c of its easy to apply and we wanted to brighten up this dark shelf and make the pattern create a fresh & bright new look!
