I designed this nursery for my sweet baby boy. We wanted a nursery that was calm and soothing…easily changed to work for a baby girl later on…and not too babyish! The walls are grey, the linens are white, and the furniture is mostly white. The bookshelves and woven shade are chocolate.

A gender-neutral, grey and white nursery
Most of the items in this room were homemade and furniture was used from around the house or purchased used and repurposed.
I have one other daughter who has a pink, cream, & brown room. I wanted something totally different in this baby girl’s room. It started with the gray (Annapolis gray to be specific) walls & went from there. Only 1 wall is stenciled. The others were left in plain gray paint.

I knew I wanted a nursery that had a very calm feeling. The baby pink and white colors made all that possible.
I wanted my son’s nursery to be a calm and modern yet comfortable room, as he grew I felt like toys and color needed to be added in order to make his room more appealing to his age so he would enjoy spending more time in it. With the transition from crib to toddler bed and addition to a few toys, this became his bedroom’s second stage.
For my second daughter (and third child) I wanted to design something that wasn’t off the shelf, and was a clean, classic design.

Emmerson’s nursery is calm and soothing with vintage elements including a re-purposed buffet and items found and re-made into art.
Since we had to combine our second son’s nursery with our guest bedroom so the grandparents would still have somewhere to sleep when they visited, we chose a themeless and timeless classic blue room with furniture that doubles as guest bedroom furniture as well as serving the typical nursery needs. We also wanted the nursery to still be all about our son despite the addition of a big guest bed. The space is so calming and relaxing!
Baby Boy Nursery
This is my twin girls’ nursery.
Both my partner and I have a fondness for the ocean. I was raised near to it, and grew up spending my summers at the beach. His is a unique love – he programs autonomous underwater vehicles and spends the majority of his days dealing with the sea in one way or another. We decided to translate that fondness into a nursery for our child. At the time, we did not know the gender so we wanted to keep it somewhat neutral, and wanted a feeling of calm peacefulness, silky sand, and clean ocean air.
