Baby Cason’s fishing nursery

A nautical Inspired room for baby Finley Jacob.

This lil pirate is 6 weeks old. Two walls had a pirate scene with cannonballs being launched and two walls had a treasure map. NYC always has interesting spaces to work with. I camouflaged the closet and made it part of the mural. Visually it enlarged the room. The furniture included the crib, changing table and a bookcase.

This nursery was for a client of mine that wanted a nursery that had a not so baby feel that would grow with her child when they got older. We ended up with the “Out To Sea” theme. I had a lot of fun with the design and especially a lot of fun creating the centerpiece which was the ship sail canopy above the crib.

We are blown away by this breezy, casual nursery with nautical flare created by our friends at Little Crown Interiors. Gerri and Naomi are pro’s when it comes to translating a theme into a first class kids room. Their use of wainscotting and a bright blue color palette stirs up emotions of the Cape Cod beach house I have yet to own. And with summer officially behind us, what better way to enjoy an endless summer while rocking baby to sleep!
