Mermaid Birthday Bash

Splish Splash It’s a Mermaid Birthday Bash! Who doesn’t love mermaids and splashing around on the beach?
The venue was Lake Norman, which provided a beautiful backdrop, and plenty of fun in the sand and water! Guests were greeted with a decorated teepee with garland, a magical bubble station, custom pillows from Shutterfly, colorful lanterns from Pottery Barn Kids, a personalized canvas mermaid sign made at Anders Ruff Workshop and mini pink flamingos from Via Blossom that lead them down to the beach.
Starfish wishes and mermaid kisses! Swimmable mermaid outfits by Mertailor were waiting by the beach for each of the guests. The little mermaids took a break from swimming to enjoy lunch at the magical under the sea kids table and sweet treats from the beautiful dessert table!
This kids table had it all from a beautiful blue and white tie dye table linen, tassel table runner, Best Day Ever plates and colorful tumblers from Pottery Barn Kids. Mix and match china isn’t just for adults! We mixed Pottery Barn Kids Best Day Ever Plates with Meri Meri foil mermaid plates and napkins. These custom lucite and agate stone napkin rings by Set in Stone, added the finishing touch of this under the sea tablescape! Kids lunch included chicken nuggets from Chick Fil-A, gold fish, and watermelon starfish!
However, the dessert table stole the show with the beautiful custom backdrop and sweet treats! The commissioned mermaid painting from Art House Charlotte, by artist Lauren Reddick, is even more stunning in person and was the focal point of the backdrop with custom DIY balloon garland, from One Stylish Party, that looked like bubbles of the sea! One of my favorite party décor items that also doubles as home décor is the turquoise octopus chandelier from Chandelier By NK, which adds a whimsical feel to the party!
The main dessert is this one of kind mermaid cake from Edible Art Charlotte, combining two popular styles of waves at the bottom and mermaid scales at the top in ombre, with a mermaid and seahorses on the side. Kids also enjoyed ombre almond pound cake shooters with mermaid tails, chocolate covered pearls, and custom mermaid tail, fish, seahorse, and sea shell cookies from Kessa Cakes!
In addition to swimming, playing in the sand, and a bubble station there was a mermaid kit station, where each guest had the opportunity to design their own mermaid from precut mermaid tails, hair, and accessories.
All guests received mermaid starfish sunglasses and mermaid bracelets for party favors, which was in addition to bubbles and a mermaid tail cookie to take home.

Sebastian’s North Pole Birthday Brunch

Twas the night before December, and all through the house, not a creature was stirring, except for two very excited expecting parents!
With our son being born bright and early the First of December, 2014, it seemed only fitting that his first birthday party would kickstart this year’s holiday festivities.  A spin on the traditional ONE-derland theme, Sebastian’s North Pole Birthday Breakfast had just the right splash of sparkle and tinsel, polar bears and penguins, and of course songs and snow!  After all, there is sNOw sweeter age than ONE!

Circus Themed Birthday Party – Madagascar 3 Style

Those that have been following me for some time know that I go all out every year for my son’s birthday party. His 1st birthday was a Mickey Mouse Clubhouse theme, his 2nd birthday was a Jake & the Neverland Pirates theme, and for his 3rd birthday last year I went all out with a Madagascar 3 Circus themed birthday party! This year’s party was over-the-top, full of DIY projects, fun, wild, colorful, and full of sugary, sweet delectable goodies = guaranteed success. Check out this awesome DIY birthday party, wild circus Madagascar style!

Landon’s Rescue Bots 5th Birthday

We held a Rescue Bots themed birthday party at our home for our son Landon’s 5th birthday. The party featured a thematic menu with “Blades’s Blades” (Veggies), “Boulder’s Boulders” (Glazed Donut Holes), “Heatwave’s Hot Wing Bites”, “Chase’s Cheese Pizza”, “Bumblebee’s Wheels” (Oreos with yellow centers), and “Optimus Prime Autobot Fuel” (Pineapple Orange Punch), a face painter, a bot cake, and tons of rescue bot fun!

ICE-CREAM BIRTHDAY PARTY

It was a super fun experience! I started with the design of the ice-cream truck and after that all the other elements just kept on flowing. The ice-cream party was set up in the family room. For activities the kids truly enjoyed playing in the ice-cream truck, the picnic and we also did some craft projects (felt/cardboard ice cream cones and ice-cream coloring sheets). The favors for kids were “Curious George and the Ice Cream Surprise” books and ice cream dishes.

A Pink and Brown Pony Birthday Party

Little Kennedy turned three in April and like many three-year old girls, she LOVES horses!  What better than a pony birthday party?  And Ponies were everywhere from the metal favor buckets with giant lollipops to the frothy pink cake to the almost too cute to eat cake pops.  There was even a pony themed bounce house for the kids to burn off some energy.  And what Pony party would be complete without Pony rides for all the guests.
The color palette of brown and pink was carried throughout the dessert buffet, favors, and custom burlap banners.  It was all brought together with adorable printables from The TomKat Studio.  A Lemonade Stand, custom made by Kennedy’s dad out of wood from her great-grandfather’s barn, kept guest well hydrated and veggies, breads and dips were served along with the sweet treats.
A custom-made silhouette of the birthday girl served as a special backdrop to the desserts and is a memorable keepsake for the family.  Hay bales served as seats for the little ones at long tables while adults enjoyed the shade of the tent.  Pink Tulips and white hydrangeas showcased the beautiful spring day.

Indoor Camping Birthday Party

It was a super fun experience! I started with the design of the camper and after that all the other elements just kept on flowing. The camper was set up in the family room with the tree and the camp fire made from rocks, branches, tissue paper and a flashlight. We also had some stars on the ceiling for our “movie under the stars” – “Curious George Goes Camping”. As for other activities the kids truly enjoyed playing in the camper and we also did a fish pond game and some craft activities (camper coloring sheets, coloring bird feeders and rock & twig figures). The favors for kids were “Curious George Goes Camping” books and twig coloring pencils.
