A Buffalo Plaid Navy & Gray Nursery for Braxton!

Looking for inspiration for a farmhouse nursery with traditional style?

This dreamy gender neutral baby room, designed by Ashton Kirby from Port Orchard Washington, delivers a rustic vibe, but with a classic twist.

Ashton took a fresh approach to the rustic nursery trend and created the sweetest little abode for her new baby Braxton!

Timeless pieces give the room a refined edge that brings warmth, texture and a relaxed vibe.  Our soft Gray Buffalo Plaid Crib Bedding and a tufted glider add to the traditional look of the room.  However, the navy ship lap wall, beaded chandelier and metal name letters give the room its farmhouse feel.  The white Storkcraft Bayview Crib has classic style, clean lines and anchors the room.  Perfect for a farmhouse styled nursery.  An ottoman in the nursery is a must have and just the spot for relaxing tired feet.

When designing a rustic baby room, you don’t have to go full out with red plaid, dark woods and woodland decor.  A simple farmhouse nursery decorated with classic styling can create a cozy and warm space for your baby, and can easily blend in well with the rest of your home’s decor.

The breath-taking navy blue ship lap wall is the perfect backdrop for the white furniture, soft plaid baby bedding and nursery decor.  The deep shade of blue makes the crib and framed artwork pop.  Endearing framed wall art from Hobby Lobby features a gray watercolor style elephant design with a popular message:  “Dream Big Little One”.

The plank ceiling, with its natural texture and charming style, can warm up any space!  Keep it clean with bright white paint.  The wooden beaded chandelier from Wayfair takes center stage, and adds a dramatic touch.  A soft toned area rug provides subtle aztec influence.  Rustic floating book shelves are handmade by Braxton’s daddy!

The gray tufted glider from Wayfair anchors this corner space and adds a perfect spot for bedtime stories.  The white toy chest was made by Ashton’s grandfather for her when she was a little girl!

We think this nursery is the perfect combination of sweet and simple.  Everything about this room is oh-so-chic!   A gender neutral nursery is a great choice, if you are planning for another child.  The decor and bedding will easily transition for the next addition.  You can always accent the room with other non-neutral decor.
