Vintage Baby Boy Shower

Wood, galvanized metal, burlap, hand painted alphabet blocks, handcrafted pennant banners, & Teddy bears were some of the amazing details from the Rustic vintage inspired shower for mama to be Ashley.
Mom wanted a beautiful shower to celebrate their last child. So that is exactly what we did.  Went to work and contacted my vendor friends to help me pull this look to together an awesome baby boy vintage shower.
Carmen Navarro Designs: Carmen was the creative mind behind the entire look of the shower. Styling every last detail to make it perfect, carefully pulling all the décor details together.  Handcrafted pennants banners that matched the denim blue color scheme were hung above each guest table. Vintage books, silver chargers, mason jars with a paper straw, hand painted baby blocks & toys, blue washed painted mason jars with babies breath flanked each tablescape.
The dessert table featured an over the top design with so many fun accents. From a diaper cake, wood blocks, suitcases, knitted blankets, textured pillows, books, marquee lights, lanterns, galvanized tubs, crates, and a blue truck. Gorgeous floral flanked each side of the table giving it some much needed balanced. & of course how can we forget those awesome teddy bears throughout the shower.

Rickety Swank: Provided the beautiful Thomasville vintage buffet, which we used as the dessert station. They also provided the rustic ladders with planks for the backdrop of the dessert table.
Irene’s Dessert Table: Created such an amazing cake with details that were too cute to eat. An intricate handmade fondant teddy bear flanked on the top of the cake along with some handcrafted edible baby blocks. Now I have seen many cake pops in my line of work, these pops have to be some of the cutest one I have in encountered. The little brown and blue teddys were such an amazing detail.
Cookies by Kerri: These royal icing cookies were insanely intricate. Teddy bears, rattles, onesies, & baby carriages matched perfectly to all the details of the shower. That washed denim look was amazing.
Tre Fiori Studio: Mason jars filled with babies breath brought life to each guest tablescape. Along with the 2 gorgeous floral pieces that flanked the dessert table, these were definitely showstoppers within themselves.
Leah Rae Photography: Captured the essence of this shower perfectly!

Words from the mom to be “My experience was very special, I felt like the decor and ambiance was breath taking, it made me feel so joyful. My guests were having such a wonderful time, they could not stop talking about how beautiful the decor was and how gorgeous everything looked! The cake was delicious and beautiful! The floral was gorgeous, every detail was perfect! My favorite detail was my dessert table! It was out of this world! It was exactly what I was visioning! The entire shower was breath taking and I truly felt blessed and happy.”

Wish Upon A Star Rustic Baby Shower

So it all started with our client wanting a wish upon a star theme. We knew right away we would make this a more hip and cool up to date theme by adding in the rustic elements . This party was all about diy. We hand made all the centerpieces, spray painted the letters, hand made the banners, candy labels, thank you bags and the list doesn’t end there. one of our favorite elements of the event was utlizing the custom rustic wood bar that we designed with the contractor,  Adam Mayer. The built-in bar added just the right amount of added rustic we needed for a side backdrop.  Being that my business partner and I are both new moms we knew exactly what its like to have a baby shower. We wanted to make this a stylish yet relaxing event for our client. There were tons of food and candies for everyone to munch on and we loved the cake pops and cake that we designed with Vani… The paper brown “About to Pop’ popcorn bags were hidden around the corner for a nice little surprise treat.  The gold made everything bling and sparkle while working magically off the teal color.

Shake, Rattle and Roll Baby Shower

I was so excited and honored to plan and host a baby shower for my sister, Nicole, who is having her first baby.  Nicole came up with the theme of the party, Shake, Rattle and Roll and I created the images to fit each of the words in the theme- a bottle, rattle and carriage. I tried to use the shake, rattle and roll idea in all parts of the party.  Since Nicole is the writer of a fashion blog, Nicole’s Guide To Style, I wanted the shower to be feminine, sophisticated and modern just like her fashion tastes.

Mint and Gold Baby Shower

I love the combination of mint and gold, especially for baby showers because it is so versatile and gender-neutral.
This particular shower was actually a Sip and See! If you aren’t Southern, or have no idea what a Sip and See is, it is a party after the baby is born, for all your friends and relatives to meet the baby. They have become really popular lately, especially in the case of second, third, or more babies.
When Christina, my client, sent me some inspiration pictures of what she was thinking, I was so excited to do this party! I LOVE antiquing and buying unique pieces for events. So, I knew that I could make this really beautiful and vintage.
I started with contacting my friend Gretchen at Three Little Monkeys Studios. She has a great style and I knew she could create a vintage, yet simplistic invitation.
I always like to do some sort of welcome for guests at the front door. I made this wreath with a simple straw wreath form, burlap and lace ribbon, some scrapbook embellishments and some shapes from my Silhouette.
I knew I wanted to use vintage windows and I was so pumped to find two different ones in varying shades of mint! Score! The large railing is actually a large piece of a baby crib that I found at the antique mall. I love the texture it brings to the table.
The cake stands are a mixture of my collection and two beautiful mint green Nicole Miller stands that I found at HomeGoods I might have squealed out loud when I found them.
Since this was a brunch, we had tons of cute brunch foods! The Eggo dipping sticks are a super easy way to do waffle shots!  These absolutely stunning mint and gold doughnuts are from my friend Autumn at Autumn Lynn’s Chocolate Sins. I think that they were so beautiful that people were afraid to eat them!
The large A was purchased at Hobby Lobby. It’s actually made from canvas, so I painted it in an ombre treatment. The little anchor is from Hobby Lobby too. If you notice, there are anchors sprinkled into the design because they are meaningful to baby’s parents. I made this vintage window into a birth announcement keepsake for the baby. I used my Silhouette to cut the baby’s birth date stats and applied it directly to the window. I hope that this makes a beautiful addition to his room!
Ok, let’s talk about how beautiful these cupcakes are. Mad Lily Cakery made the cupcakes for me and Maria at Love and Sugar Kisses did the absolutely stunning toppers. I originally planned to do a cupcake wrapper on these, but when I started applying them, I thought they took away from the beautiful toppers!
I got the vintage mint hankies at the antique mall too. I love how they look on the cake stands.
The fabulous cookies were made by my girls at Whimsy Cookie Co. I love the treatment they did on the mason jars to make them look like they are wrapped in burlap!
All party food doesn’t have to be complicated. These mini-cinnamon rolls are prepackaged from Kroger and they are delicious!  For the favors, we did bags of powdered donuts. Gretchen made these toppers to match the invitation and they say “Donut be a stranger!” I found this vintage drawer and painted the inside of it mint to hold the donuts.
The beautiful fabric banner on the front of the table was made by Candace at LillyPaul Designs. I love the little textured pieces that she threw in. I have worked with her three times now and she does beautiful work!  Instead of gifts, the parents asked for guests to bring books for the baby’s library.
I set up another food station in the dining room for the savory food selections, which included chicken salad croissants, a yogurt and fruit trifle, a cheese display, and a biscuit bar.
This chalkboard was an ugly painting that I painted over with chalkboard paint.  A little chalk pen and some free-handing and it’s the perfect display for the biscuit bar menu.
Birthday Express sent me these awesome silver-look plastic utensils. This is a great option when you want something a little nicer-looking, with the ease of plastic utensils!
And what’s a brunch without drinks?
