How am I a 4 year old’s mom?!?! Ok, coming back to reality. I wanted to do art theme on my son’s third birthday party initially. But, I went with a different theme then.
One day he just randomly told me he LOVES painting. And that remained consistent for about a month. So, I went along with the theme for his fourth birthday.
As an artist, it is important that my home be a show of support for other contemporary artists that I love. Baby girl’s room is no exception.
After moving into our new home, it was time to put together the perfect room for my little ladies.
My daughter’s favorite activity is to get messy, so I thought what better theme for her 3rd birthday than an Art Party where she and all her friends could go all out and get really messy! Party goers enjoyed painting small and large canvases, as well as wood and paper craft activities, and artist themed food and drinks. Attendees were instructed to “dress for mess!”
An educational themed playroom complete with a compass rose ceiling mural, time zones, art table, art display area, TV, and toys storage galore.
Hugo is a vibrant and curious 4-year-old with a strong point of view on what he likes. We set out to create a fun and unique room for him in our new home, letting him help with the design process in every step. We wanted him to feel creative and comfortable in the new house and by letting him have control over his own space, we knew he’d be right at home.
Custom designed nursery for Brooklyn. Hot pink, lime green, turquoise, black & white. Barbie art & DIY Barbie sunburst mirror. Upholstered twin bed & turquoise crib. Design & color palette intended to grow with the child.

I had a rainbow/”all the colors” ( as my daughter says)/art party for her 3rd birthday. We had a party at home with our family where we had a slip n slide and ate supper and had cake.
A pint-sized, non-gender specific nursery created with oodles of love! Working with a small space to incorporate high function, storage, pattern and design. Many projects are DIY and were attainable on a tight budget.
Our first child, a boy, is due July 14! I had so much fun decorating his room, and could not have done it without the help of some very talented family!
This year for our sweet Addie’s birthday, a Muddy Puddles party with Peppa Pig was a MUST. This little girl is OBSESSED. Have you ever seen this little gem of a show? Simply darling! Because it is a British show, anything Peppa Pig is nearly impossible to come by here in the U.S., so I decided to make it a celebration of muddy puddles–one of the Pig family’s favorite activities! Guests could step in “muddy puddles” made from kraft paper as they walked to the door, don a pair of rain boots and step on in!

This is Zechariah’s simple gray and white nursery! I wanted something clean and simple for a little boy with a few splashes of red.
We turned our sitting room into the nursery. We knew we wanted our baby as close to us as possible and on the same floor, so we ended up redoing our sitting room to become our new nursery. We utilized every inch of the space for storage and functionality. Our base colors are cream, brown, and yellow with a pop of raspberry pink. All the wall decor was handmade by daddy to be and me. The changing table was repurporsed and I used wall decals to add more excitement to the piece. I’m not a fan of matchy-matchy, so we just pulled fabrics and colors together that we loved and her nursery “theme” was complete!
