Wallpaper Art from Kiki & Polly

Posted in Gifts, Wall Art, Wallpaper by Little Apple Design LA

We are enamoured by Lisa Golightly’s latest collection of art known as Wallpaper Panel Art.

Lisa believes children’s art should not have to sacrifice style or quality to embrace charm and imagination.  She accomplishes this with the use of sweet hand painted silhouettes, non-toxic, low VOC paint and graphic wallpaper affixed to birch wood panels. The end result is a combination of fairy tale whimsy and cool contemporary design.

A collection of Lisa’s art can be found on her charming site Kiki & Polly. When asked about the name, Lisa explains that her daughter’s beloved bird was named Kiki and she continues to use her daughter’s imaginary friend Polly for inspiration…”Polly no longer visits our house as she once did, but I try to keep the spirit of childhood, wonder and imagination with me in my Portland, Oregon studio.”

It’s certainly working Lisa and we could all benefit from a little “Polly” in our lives! Kiki & Polly is pleased provide Project Nursery readers with a 10% savings. Please enter promotional code 410008515 at check out.

Hand-Made Nursery Wallpaper

Posted in Baby Nurseries, Murals, Paint, Wallpaper by Little Apple Design SF

Leave it to some very creative Brits to design and produce some of the most beautiful hand-made wallpapers I’ve ever seen. So, of course I had to share it with our faithful Project Nursery readers. The company, Fromental, is headed by Tim Butcher, former Creative Director of world-renowned hand-painted Chinoiserie house de Gournay. If you aren’t familiar with the Chinoiserie style take a look at the de Gournay site and you are sure to be dazzled by the intricate patterns and detail of these papers.  They have recently added a children’s collection they call Brainchild.  The mini-collection is perfect for the most sophisticated of nurseries!

The collection consists of three series: carousel, monkey or little birdie. There are several colorways available in each series and you can hang the panels together, like the schematic displays, to create a wall mural. With this paper up in a nursery the room is transformed into something darling and completely unique.  For more information on these papers and pricing contact Fromental at info@fromental.co.uk

Wall to Wall

Posted in Wallpaper by admin

Everywhere I turn I see rooms with wallpaper these days. It seems so 80’s but wallpaper is an easy way to turn up the dial on any nursery or kid’s room. Try wallpapering just one wall and leaving the others simple. Mod Green Pod has some beautiful (wipeable and non-toxic) paper inspired by nature. Design Your Wall has tons of choices for kid’s rooms ranging from baseball, space, circus, rodeo and vintage paper. How cool would this surfer scene be in a boy’s room? I know my husband would be hanging out in the room just to feel like he was getting ready to catch a wave….
