Readers, you gave us so many fabulous design ideas and inspiration this week. Thank you for all of your hard work and sharing your projects with us—it was an exciting week in the gallery! It’s the middle of summer, and we’re loving the long days outdoors, swimming, sunshine and little freckle-kissed faces. We’re also wild for this season’s bright colors—orange, yellow, bright blue and lime green. They definitely brighten up our moods! We will start with the most important item in a nursery: the crib. This Caravan Crib from Kalon [...]
An easy way to add a special touch to the nursery is with a mobile. Not only are they a great way to incorporate a little personality into your baby’s room, they can also be a magical decor statement. Whether they are handmade, one-of-a-kind or just plain fun, these are a few of my favorites. [...]

The bright colors of the beaches and architecture [...]
One of my favorite elements to use in a nursery is hanging something fantastic from the ceiling. Yes chandeliers are wonderful, but that’s not exactly what I am thinking of. Check out some of these unique finds that help give the nursery a whimsical focal point.
I know that there are so many toy options for kids these days, it is crazy. I personally try and keep the computer games and other electronic devices from becoming too much and I have even limited video games from our house. I am still a believer that kids need to have down time. And since they can’t all sit still, crafting can be a great way to create time and space with your children, away from all the buzz.
Whenever I am doing a photo shoot I am always looking for creative elements that I can use over the crib or changing station. The space above the crib is especially nice for adding a touch of “one-of-a-kind” to the nursery. Many mobiles currently on the market are designed to “awaken” or stimulate a newborn, however it is nice to sometimes use that space for a touch of whimsy! I love coming up with unique ideas…some just happen to be more “out of the box” while others are handmade.
