Design Dilemma: We’re just moving into a new townhouse after living in a rented apartment. In the rental, we weren’t allowed to paint or hang window treatments, so I’m really looking forward to creating a baby space for my son Sam (9 months old) that I couldn’t create in the old place. With that said, we want this new baby room to be somewhat gender neutral so that it can be our next baby’s room — whatever the sex!

Look around: The French Country look is all over the place these days! From the new nursery and children’s room collection by Restoration Hardware Baby & Child to the growing popularity of lines such as Art for Kids & the Provence Collection by Newport Cottages. I drew inspiration from the beautiful nursery designed by Amy D Morris.
Although this particular nursery contains expensive, beautiful antiques, you can get the same look for less by combining nursery and adult furniture and accessories. I normally would not choose silk bedding because of its impracticality…
