We celebrated my son turning 3 and my daughter turning 1 with a woodland animal book party! Both of my kids love books so it was a perfect gender neutral party theme!
This party was so much fun to put together and almost everything was a DIY project. I started by painting the invitation using watercolor. I used the invitation's color scheme and animals throughout the party to keep things cohesive. I created the party hats and made a dress for my daughter and party shirt for my son. My son helped me come up with all of the games we played. Bingo is one of his favorites, so I painted and created the Bingo cards to match the party. My favorite game was the Storybook Guess Who game. My son chose all of the characters and guests had so much fun playing it! We also played musical toadstools and winners of the games received handmade fox notepads.
We kept the food in theme and used twig easels to hold the food cards. I made two little ombre cakes and hedgehog cupcakes for dessert. My son helped me make the batters for both cakes and I love how excited he was to be helping!
