Description
This diy nursery is centered around a bird and owl theme, with a touch of some whimsical elements.
Design Inspiration
My inspiration for the project began with my love for the bedding, which is the Love Bird set by Bananafish. I also found much inspiration on this website.
Decorating Style
I don't think I really have a set style. If I like it, I buy it! If I can make it myself, even better!!! :)
Project Details
Savannah's nursery was a labor of love that both my husband and I worked on. My goal was to create a space that was fun, unique, and something that Baby S could grow with. The room was previously just a junk room, that wasn't serving much of a purpose so we were able to start from scratch with our design.
The following changes were made:
We replaced the old carpet with bamboo flooring, we repainted the room in kid friendly colors, replaced the closet doors with mirrored doors (the kids can write on them with dry erase markers and it wipes right off!), installed the chair railing and molding, and my husband custom designed/built the bookshelves, cabinets, and toybox/window seat along the wall....he even included secret cubbies for Baby S to hide her most prized possessions in! He also custom built her closet. I hand painted the tree mural behind the crib and sewed her toy box seat as well. The dresser was purchased off of craigslist and my husband and I refinished it. The glider was purchased off of craigslist as well. The collage of frames and knick knacks above the dresser were all purchased from yard sales for under 50 cents each! I repainted the frames and created some artwork in photoshop based off of some other pieces I had seen and liked. The bird cage was also a $2 yard sale find. We just added a little bit of spray paint and ribbon and it was as good as new!

I love it! What were the original Disney colors used to color match? Do you still have the names of them? Thank you!
