Vintage Cottage Nursery

Description

We added DIY wainscoting to give a cottage feel. We went with a gender neutral pallet before we knew the sex of the baby. The walls are painted moonshine by Benjamin Moore.

Design Inspiration

We went with the colors, black, white, gray and mint to be gender neutral. The rug is from Crate & Barrel. We painted an old dresser with chalk paint in Annie Sloan French Linen to use as a changing table. We were inspired by mixing contemporary design with vintage/cottage style.

Decorating Style

Shabby Chic, cottage, contemporary mixed with vintage pieces.

Project Details

We used vintage artwork (the ABC print, the vintage sheet music, and crewel needlework piece found on Etsy) as well as some DIY artwork (framing a notecard with a quote, a sand-dollar, and a mini bunting made with cardstock) for a gallery wall.

Favorite Items

I like the gallery wall, the crocheted sheep mobile and the mini moccasins we found in Canada.

Advice

Re-purpose furniture and artwork you already have to save money on a nursery. DIY projects like wainscoting and paint can make a big transformation!
