Waiting for Warren

Description

My husband and I wanted a nursery that didn't really have an established theme, but rather fill the room with things that are important to us while still creating a baby friendly nursery.

Design Inspiration

I spent hours looking at Pintrest, Etsy and of course Project Nursery to gather ideas for this room.  The first purchase was the glider, which I knew we would recover with a different fabric right away and my search of fabrics began.  I decide to go with Alexander Henry 2D Zoo fabric for the bedding and then the rest of it kind of all came together from there.

Decorating Style

My husband is more modern where I am more antique and so we frequently merge the two, hence the wooden sign above the crib.  We didn't want anything too baby-ish or too sophisticated so we found a very happy medium with the room we created for Warren.

Favorite Items

My favorite items are the ones that were handmade and given to us as gifts, especially the quilt my sister made and the Rhino Kisses painting my friend painted for us.  A close second would be the Bushel & a Peck sign since it has so much sentimental value to me.

Advice

I used Pintrest to help me organize my design ideas and inspirations and then it was easy for me to put it all together.  I had so much fun custom designing our nursery instead of going with a theme.  I am not very crafty, but am a strong believer in DIY projects... if you can't do it yourself you can always find someone on etsy who can!
