Vintage Pink and Gray Nursery for Twin Girls

Description

I looked at a lot of pictures on Pinterest before coming up with this concept.  I knew I wanted very simple bedding.  My husband wouldn't allow me to paint the nursery because our house is new construction and we plan to use the room as an office in two years.  That forced me to bring color in with fabrics.  I knew what I wanted for bedding, but the pink bedding is so pale it made it difficult to find fabric to match.  I finally found the fabric that brought in the gray from the furniture pieces I had from Nadeau.

Project Details

I found it was very important to always ask about a discount when buying for twins. Buying double with everything adds up so I wasn't shy about asking.  Pottery Barn and Restoration Hardware offer this already, but I even received a discount on my bedding.

The cribs are from Restoration Hardware Baby.

The Addison Rug is from Pottery Barn Kids.  The glider and the dresser are also from Pottery Barn Kids.

The bedding is from LD Linens and Decor in Baton Rouge, LA.

Favorite Items

My favorite things in the nursery are the two paintings my mom did for the girls.  I lucked out and found a rug at Pottery Barn that matched the pattern she included in the artwork.

Advice

Pinterest is a great way to find design inspiration.  That's how I found Project Nursery.  I was on bed rest for much of my pregnancy which forced me to be creative about how I was going to shop for items for the nursery.  I spent hours looking on the internet for design ideas before figuring out exactly what I wanted.  Most of the furniture pieces were ordered online and delivered right to my door  I couldn't be more thrilled with the way everything turned out.
