VINTAGE NURSERY GREY AND PINK

Description

Finding out that we were having a girl was a dream come true for me. My husband let me do basically whatever I wanted. Thankfully, the project was very budget friendly as we did things in spurts. I wanted to incorporate my Grandmothers belongings since she passed away. Pink was a non negotiable, it had to be there!

Design Inspiration

There is nothing I like more than a vintage girly atmosphere! I took ideas from everywhere and the only new piece of furniture was the rocking chair. I wanted it soft and cozy.

Project Details

The bedding :                                                                                                         Restoration Hardware Child is where we got the bedding, which I bought almost immediately after finding out it was a girl. I was not going to take any chances of it selling out. The ruffle at the bottom of the crib skirt and gold accents on the sheets were exactly what I wished for.

Crib & Decor above crib:                                                                                                                                      Its the Graco Sarah Crib which was my sons crib, I took a sander and distressed the crib. Its hard to tell in the picture. The Gold accents above the crib were very similar to Restoration Hardware Kids, however I found them at Hobby Lobby on sale for $5 for the letter, and $12 for the crown decal. The mirrors were super old from Ross.

Dorel Rocking Chair:                                                                                                                         The Chair was a risky decision, but after looking on Project Nursery everyone that had the same chair made it look great. Walmart.com is where we ordered it from and shipping was free and it came super fast. The pink was the perfect shade, totally worth the risk. The Side table was from Hobby Lobby that we already had for 30 bucks!

The Pouf:                                                                                                                                                          I ordered the  gold pouf on amazon, it was 135 with shipping and completely stuffed. It came in a few business days. I purposely did not order the ottoman to match rocking chair, cause I was determined to do something fun, and a space saver.

Bird cages: on sale at Michaels

Lamps: my Grandmothers, lamp shades on sale at Restoration Hardware Kids.

Dresser:                                                                                                                                          we actually got the dress for free from a neighbor, I sanded, painted. The Changing Pad cover is from Restoration Hardware also, and matches the bumper perfectly. The gold vanity set was my grandmothers.

Favorite Items

Of course my Grandmothers lamps, and Vanity set. I would say the bedding. The bedding is where most the inspiration came from. Restoration Hardware kids had the greatest shopping experience is Corte Madera. Even calling over the phone, they are very helpful.

So many gorgeous little details here worth noting. There's the gold pouf ottoman, the monogram, the little gold clock, the vintage comb, hand mirror and hand brush, and the vintage bird cages.

I love this shade of pink, accented with gold. The room looks so classy and elegant.
