Baby S Vintage Nursery

Design Inspiration

A little yellow vintage couch.

Project Details

The yellow velvet couch was a thrift store find. The vanity and cabinet are thrift store finds which were repainted. The shadow boxes over the crib contain my mother's baby items which were hand-made by her mother - a kimono baby wrap and pram blanket. One of the boxes also has my mother's first pair of satin baby booties. The Northern toilet paper prints were passed down from a family member who had them in her room when she was a baby. The curtains and crib linens were made by myself and my sister. The white satin blanket on the crib was hand-embroidered by my sister-in-law. We painted the walls blue to the room wasn't overly girly.  I only wish the woodwork could have been painted, but due to the age of our home, we felt it best to leave it in the original state.

Favorite Items

My mom's (Baby S's grandmother) baby items and the hand-embroidered blanket. So much love and attention went into her blanket making it a beautiful keepsake. I love being able to incorporate these important mementos into her room.

Thanks. No it isn't. Her great-aunt bought it for her as a keepsake piece. I was so glad it worked with her room.

Tagging along for the paint color! Love this blue for a little girl!

Hi and thanks! I didn't want her room too girly, so we chose a blue to set off all the pinks and corals. I am sorry to say that I searched for the paint can or the color swatch and couldn't find it. The paint is from Sherwin Williams. If I come across it I will post.

I love it and have been thinking of doing our nursery a similar color - can I ask you for the paint brand and color name?

Aww, this is such a lovely vintage space. I love the vanity and the little pink table beside the crib. It's so nice that you still have your mom's valuable baby items, too.
