Twins Wonderland 1st Birthday

Description

An Alice in Wonderland inspired 1st birthday party.

Design Inspiration

I love Alice in Wonderland and think it's a really cute party theme, so I decided it would be perfect for the girls party theme.

Project Details

I started off by making the invitations. I brought a copy of Alice in Wonderland and printed an image onto the pages then mounted them onto card.

We had lots of children coming to the party so we hired an 'Alice' to help entertain them. We had a range of ages and she catered the games and songs to them all - the girls especially loved the bubbles and the hookey kookey.

The food was A Mad Hatters Tea ! We had queen of heart tarts , white rabbit shaped sandwiches, tweedle dee and tweedle dum punch as well as alice inspired cupcakes.

The cake was amazing and had two little sets of legs tumbling down the rabbit hole.

We decorated the hall with giant playing cards, teapots, white rabbits and huge teacups of flowers.  The buffet table was decorated with artificial grass table runner, scattered flowers and toadstools.

For guests to write wishes for the girls we left a copy of Alice in Wonderland by the present table.

Favorite Items

'Alice' brought a bubble machine with her and I loved watching the girls chase the bubbles - they were fascinated by it.

Advice

If your looking to keep costs down try and give yourself lots of planning time so you can shop around/ buy things in the sales or make your own props.
