Twinkle Twinkle Little Star Party

Description

Planning my daughter's 1st birthday was so much fun! I wanted to keep things girly, soft, and sweet- just like she is! The theme was "twinkle twinkle little star" so I wanted to use lots of glitter, pinks and peaches, and of course stars!

Design Inspiration

I was inspired by the lullaby "Twinkle twinkle little star". For the party, I added the phrase, "One year-old is what you are" to fit in with the rhyme of the song.

Decorating Style

I wanted it to feel girly, frilly, light and soft. I accomplished that by using a soft color palette of neutrals, light pink, peach, and gold.

Project Details

I did several DIY projects for this party. I used my Cricut to cut out the letters for the highchair banner and the "Twinkle twinkle little star" banner on gold glitter paper, then attached it to baker's twine. I also hot glued glittered foam stars to toothpicks to put into some of the desserts on the table, and made the tassel banner out of different shades of tissue paper.

I incorporated other items from Etsy to give it more of a personalized touch:

Twinkle Little Star party invitation

Gold star headband

"One" onesie

Cake Topper

Favorite Items

I think my favorite thing about the party was the twinkle lights hanging behind the table! It really brought the whole theme to life!

Advice

I kept all of my desserts simple and in the white/yellow category so they wouldn't stand out as much- I wanted it to all look cohesive and let the colored accents really shine!
