Twin Nursery for Berkley and Haxton

Description

Our obsession with geometric patterns and vibrant colors were our focal point in this nursery along with adding an arrangement of old and new.  We were aiming for a calm, relaxing room that could be comfortable for this growing family, designating specific colors to each twin to reflect their gender but still using the same print of fabric to show they came as a pair!

Design Inspiration

Our inspiration came from the child-sized vintage double desk we found at an antique auction and the original fashion sketches.  When we were coming up with the design of this nursery, we asked the parents about doing vintage illustrations above each crib.  They loved the idea and from there we found that the twin's great-grandmother had original sketches she had drawn from the 50's.  The illustrations were so fabulous, we fell in love with them instantly making them a must in this project.

Decorating Style

We would define the nursery as an eclectic mix of traditional and modern, pops of aqua blue here and bubble gum pink there with a twist of patterns and texture.

Favorite Items

Definitely the vintage double desk and the original fashion sketches by the twin's great-grandmother, loved adding a little history to the room!

Advice

Step out of your comfort zone and try something different to make your space original.   Add something vintage that has a great story behind it and some small monogrammed pieces to make the room more personal! And don't forget to have fun!
