Turquoise and Lime Green Nursery

Description

With a little elbow grease and the help of friends we transformed our boring guest room to a dream nursery.

Design Inspiration

The gender of the baby was a surprise so we kept the colors and concepts gender neutral. I wanted a bright and cheery nursery, and I wanted it to look like a baby's room-so many modern nurseries look sterile and void of color.  After our daughter was born our friend created the "Grace" sign over the crib.

Decorating Style

We incorporated family heirlooms with a few modern items to pull this room together.

Project Details

The dresser, crib, and rocking chair were all family heirlooms. We refinished these pieces (most were yellow pine) and gave them an antique look.  We did a green ombre finish on the dresser. The nightstand was a plain white stand from target that we antiqued along with the other pieces.

The rug and lamp are from Pottery Barn Teen.

Favorite Items

I love the custom artwork that was created just for our daughter by KP Custom Works http://www.etsy.com/shop/KPCustomWork .

We designed the nursery around the "You Are My Sunshine" artwork.

Advice

You don't have to spend a fortune to get the look you want for your nursery. And just because your nursery is gender neutral, it doesn't have to lack color or personality.
