Stella’s Vintage Chic Nursery

Description

Stella's nursery appears neutral with white linen bedding with cream velvet accents, but we touched up the feminie side by adding light pink into the decor. We used my mother's old baby clothes as wall decorations as well as some old ballet needlepoint pieces. There are hints of ballet themed pieces throughout the room. It was a labor of love but we are so happy to have her room finished for her to enjoy!

Design Inspiration

Antique/vintage was the look I was going for, with traces of ballet-themed art throughout the room

Decorating Style

I don't have a decorating style - I vary my opinions from room to room, but I would say I'm very into classical styles and romantic/french lines.

Project Details

The flowers hanging above the crib were decorations from my best friend's wedding -they are made out of torn heavy paper and hot glued together! An inexpensive broach pinned in the middle tied everything together!

Favorite Items

The flowers are a big favorite of mine, as is the mirror I repainted which was cream in my childhood room. Also, the chandelier is a refurbished antique from my in-laws.

Advice

Search for what you want your nursery to look like and don't be afraid to borrow ideas. Make it your own with your own color scheme and remember to keep this a calm and serene place for baby to sleep.

Simply elegant! But what I really love is the fact that you still have your mom's old baby clothes and showcased them, and incorporated them in the room's design. It's a very rare thing to have.

So many words come to mind to describe this room: classic, elegant, simple, clean, pretty, and chic. I like that you didn't go overboard with the details.
