Splashing into ONE – Amelia’s first birthday bash!

Description

A classic, first birthday splash party with a pastel pink, aqua and yellow color theme!

Design Inspiration

My goal was to create backyard pool party with a “summery” and classy girly look instead of the traditional primary, bold pool party colors that are usually found. I came up with a pastel aqua, pink & yellow color theme that I thought represented my sweet, charming one year old best!

Decorating Style

Classic and clean

Project Details

I created the invitations and party printables for the birthday banner, food labels, favor tags and photo banner. The photo banner illustrating how much Amelia has changed and grown each month for the past year turned out to be so special and sweet. We also strung a colorful 100 ft pennant banner across the pool, had lots of balloons and decorated a little sweets table with a birthday banner and streamers.

We kept activities fairly simple as most of our guests were three and under. We filled the pool with 2 dozen pink and white beach balls along with a variety of other pool toys. Since not all of our little guests are expert swimmers we rented a huge inflatable slide that doubles as a water slide, one word – AWESOME. We also put out a little kiddie pool, bubbles and a dozen zoo animal soaker guns from oriental trading (also a big hit).

For food we kept with a traditional summer menu that was easy to put outdoors and for everyone to eat. Nothing like some deli sandwiches, watermelon, chips, home made pasta salad and pink lemonade! For dessert we had Krispy Kreme pink glazed donuts, the prettiest first birthday cake I have ever seen (half almond, half lemon), lemon jello, chocolate chip cookies and pink gumballs/candy sticks – all displayed on our little dessert table in the kitchen.

For favors each little one took home a animal squirter and water ball tied together with a custom thank you tag that read “Thanks for splashing with us!”

It was the perfect celebration of our precious girl!

Cool party! Is the water slide safe even for one-year-olds?
