Shya’s Closet Makeover

Description

Since we don't need the changing table anymore (yay no more diapers!) it was time to make use of the huge closet and transform it into a big girl space.

Design Inspiration

I was inspired by the beautiful rooms on Project Nursery.  It was time to transform from a baby's room to a more functional toddler space.

Decorating Style

Modern and colorful.

Project Details

I painted the whole closet, floors, walls and ceiling to give it a more modern feel.  For DIY'ers it makes for a much quicker project because you don't have to spend so much time trimming around the edges!

Also, the color is from the Oops department at Lowes.  That is my favorite place to start when looking for paint colors.  Most of the rooms in my house have been painted with oops paint!

Favorite Items

My favorite item is the 7' hanging clothes rod.  It gives us the extra hanging space for next season's cute dresses that we can quickly grab if the weather changes suddenly.

Advice

removing the closet doors is helpful to make the closet feel even bigger.  Plus, it is safer when toddlers are involved!

It really is amazing what a new coat of paint could do!  But this closet wouldn't really look this beautiful without your skills.  I am wondering what you could do with a room!
