She’s About to Pop Baby Shower

Description

For sister's baby shower, I had found a cute "she's about the pop" theme. We had several kinds of popcorn, party favour bags had pop rocks, lollipops, etc. I could have pushed it more on the pop theme but I held back. I'm not much of a theme person and this was my first attempt at it. Always budget conscious I made all the decorations. I even attempted to make cupcakes (gotta learn how to ice properly...). All in all it was a lot of fun and a I had a great time DIYing the decorations!

Project Details

For the "bubble" backdrop I bought paper  and plastic plates from the dollar store, painted some of them, arranged them on poster board and hot glued them in place. All the little signs were printed off the computer and punched using various paper punches. I finally used up some old yellow ribbon that I've had for about 7 years! The banner was also printed off and then put together by yours truly. I am not a fan of taking a sharpie to put your name on a cup... so after I finally got all the RSVP's, I printed out labels and attached them to plastic cups which I think is a nice little personal touch. Just make sure you don't forget someone! =)

Favorite Items

I like how the paper/plastic backdrop turned out. I especially like how inexpensive and easy it was to make!

Stephanie,

Hi Stephanie! They were a little game we did- a take on a baby pool where I asked guests questions such as, "how many hours of labour will Dian be in?" and guests had to shoot a ball into the cup with their guess for the answer. It was more of a silly time passer- because a lot is based on chance we got some silly answers like, a 22 pound baby!

I love the bright and sunny colors you used for the shower. I like the "she's about to pop" theme, too. And I won't even talk about the food, which look yummy and healthy.
