Description:
I wanted to design a room that would feel very peaceful and playful. I also didn't want to overdo it with a theme, focusing more on colors and fresh modern design. Almost everything that went into this room was either handmade or something I found at a discount store. No big splurges here!
Design Inspiration:
I joke around that the theme is "Pacific Northwest" because of the woodland animals and the addition of the whale print.
Decorating Style:
Modern, eclectic, and on a budget!

Curtains, crib skirt: Fabric from Carousel Designs

Changing table cover from Designs by Christy

Bookshelves, dresser, side table from IKEA

Various other items from TJMaxx, Marshalls, HomeGoods
Favorite Items:
I love the Chevron fabric that I used to make the crib skirt and curtains. It's the perfect muted shade of orange.
Advice:
Take your time and scour the shelves at discount stores like TJMaxx and Marshalls. Most of the stuff I found for the nursery was collected over the length of my pregnancy. And don't limit yourself to nursery furniture. You can find cool pieces that aren't specifically for nurseries but look function great anyway.

It’s actually wrapping paper that I bought from a boutique in Pittsburgh. Sorry, but I can’t find a brand or artist on the print.
