Description
A bright, contemporary nursery inspired by bold green, yellow and aqua. One friend said “Its a room fit for a duchess and/or a rock star.” That’s exactly what I wanted to do.
Design Inspiration
This mom-to-be, who owns a wonderful boutique apparel shop here in the Midwest, wanted her baby's nursery to be calm, but magical. Sophisticated, yet hip. Inspiration started with the chandelier and the pelmet/canopy. The pelmet/canopy fabric and design defined the palette of the room. The canopy drapes are reversible, so that the little girl can have options as she grows into her room. I love filling a nursery with things that the child can keep forever. The drapery is made from a remnant designer fabric @ $5.99 a yard, {found at a local wholesale fabric store}.
Decorating Style
A personal mix of edge and sophistication that is stress-free, comfortable and surprisingly affordable.

I cannot believe the vintage faux bois pair of lamps I found! They have these amazing collapsible alluminum shades that are in perfect condition! I painted the bases capri blue and added the russian nesting dolls for a touch of "fresh fun".

This nursery is GORGEOUS! I did a feature today on my blog with yellow nurseries and I just had to include yours! I love the use of such a bold green with the bright yellow. I think you nailed it with going simple with the furniture and letting the color do the talking. Everything ties together so well and I'm a big fan of all of the up-cylcing! Great job!

ROCK ON! I just gave this room 5 stars because I am shocked that so much came from upcycled thrift and the junk store, one of my favorite places :o) Wow. I could have sworn the chair was $2000, and the armoire was another $3000. This room looks like a million bucks, and I love the boldness throughout. One of a Kind. I can't say enough. I will be showing my friends this one.
