Description

A rock star birthday party for a princess!

Design Inspiration

My daughter loves a local kids band- Mindy Hester & The time Outs.

Project Details

Mindy Hester & the Time Outs did a forty minute show.  The kids danced and I also had two friends giving tattoos to anyone that wanted them.  I taped a bunch of rock star themed and kiddie tattoos I found at Party City to a big board so kids could easily point at what they wanted.   I had inflatable guitars with glitter star glasses tied on to them at all of the children's seats (both from oriental trading company).  I also had necklaces all over the tables.  On the adult tables I had the rock candy centerpieces which I made with containers I found in the dollar section at Target.  The foam letters are from Michaels.  I ordered the rock candy online at ohnuts.com in colors that matched my paperware.  I also got small glitter containers in pink, purple, and turquoise (found at dollar section at Target) which were weighted down to hold balloons.   Besides the guitars and glasses, children were given a personalized CD of the bands music.

Advice

Find your paper goods first and keep a napkin or plate in your car or purse.  You never know when you will see something that might be a great addition.

So cute! And there’s also a rock concert of sorts! You really did great with the rock star party details, too — the tattoos, the guitar balloons, the necklaces, etc.
