Description:
A beluga whale themed nursery for a baby boy.
Design Inspiration:
The inspiration for our nursery came from many trips to see the beluga whales at both the Georgia Aquarium and Sea World. These gentle giants of the sea captivated us and we wanted our son to have a similar love for these wonderful creatures.
Decorating Style:
We have a more modern style and we are drawn to dark colored wood furniture.
Project Details:
The wall decals we designed and were printed by Dali Decals. The bedding/pillow/mobile/whale basket are from Pottery Barn Kids. The rug is made by Momeni - Lil Surfer. The book shelf is a spice rack from Ikea painted white. The mirror/nightstand/curtains are also from Ikea. The furniture is by Pali Designs - the Emilia crib and the Trieste dresser. The glider is the Newco Jayden from BRU. The white frames for the beluga photos are from Organic Bloom. The ceiling mobile is made by Flensted.
Favorite Items:
My favorite item is a tie between the wave rug and the beluga whale decal.
Advice:
My advice for anyone looking to do a whale themed nursery is to make sure to not go overboard with too many whales - it can overwhelm the room. The wave rug is perfect because it goes with the theme without having a whale anywhere on it.

I love the whale theme. I think it’s quite unique because I haven’t encountered a whale-themed nursery before. I also love the colors – white, cream, and different subtle shades of blue. The whale mobile and the white frames are cute and adorable. And oh, the rug. The rug is just so beautiful!
