Sandy Walker and Kelsey Murrietta of In Awe Weddings & Events threw this shower for Kelsey's best friend and sister-in-law, Summer. It was held at Cantina Laredo, a modern gourmet mexican food restaurant.
The theme of the shower was based on Landon's dog bedding from Carousel Designs (www.babybedding.com). The colors included navy blue, bright blue, and brown.
The bedding was more modern than "baby-ish" so we tried to keep that feel for the shower.
We used blue cloth napkins to bring color to the table and tuxedo folded them to hold a card for each guest to write the baby a letter. We also found Dog candy suckers from Oriental Trading and tucked those into the napkin pocket as well. For the centerpieces, we found dog planters from Target.com and placed plants in them. The favors were whoopie pies created by PJ from La Dolce Pesca (www.ladolcepesca.com) in Scottsdale. The cupcakes were created by a friend of the mom-to-be who also has her own business (http://www.jennycakesaz.com/ ). I created the invitations (www.flossystylishdesign.net). The pockets were from Envelopments, the chipboard dog bone cutouts on the front of the invitations were from http://www.etsy.com/people/SpectacularStuff.
The dog planter centerpieces and the whoopie pies :)
Shop online! The dog planters were a total fluke from searching on Google! Restaurants are fabulous places for baby showers, as long as they have a private space.
