Pink & Gray Classic Romance

Description

This nursery is a room that can grow with a young baby girl into a toddler.  The colors are simple, yet elegant.  This room is very regal and fit for a princess.

Design Inspiration

We skipped the butterfly and flower themed bedding found in Babies R Us and Buy Buy Baby and chose a damask print bedding online that we really fell in love with.   We worked off the fabric and colors of the bedding to choose the paint colors and decorative accents.  Gray and Pink is the new "Brown & Pink" that was so popular a few years ago.

Decorating Style

Classic, traditional and vintage.

Project Details

Furniture: Munire: Capri (white).  We had such a tough time finding furniture that was "WHITE".  Most furniture was called French White, Vintage White or Ivory which all had a yellow tint to it.  I wanted bright white furniture and found this beautiful set.

Bedding: New Arrival's Stella bedding set. I google searched pink and gray bedding and found this set on a few websites.  Designers on Etsy.com are replicating this exact set, but I chose to buy it right from the original manufacturer because I needed it to be perfect! http://www.newarrivalsinc.com/Stella-Gray-Baby-Bedding_p_2648.html

Coordinating bedding accessories: Curtain panels, Mobile, Diaper Stacker and Monogrammed Pillow all were purchased on Etsy.com from Mellissa's Boutique http://www.etsy.com/shop/mellissasboutique?ref=seller_info

Glider & Ottoman: Little Castle, Savvy purchased from Buy Buy Baby.  Love this glider.  It's the exact chair I wanted and finally found it in Buy Buy Baby.  This is the much more affordable version of the "Lacey" glider by Klaussner.  (tip - go to Buy Buy Baby to view more glider/rockers in store.  They have a ton of different styles and colors in store than they do online.  You can also use coupons on this item!!)

Chandelier: Lydia chandelier from Pottery Barn Kids

Area Rug: Pink shag rug 4' round from Amazon.com http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00513YKXE/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Personalized Addison Chairs:  Both chairs were gifts at my baby shower, however, I do know the pink one is from Toys R Us.

Various wall hangings and picture frames: Hobby Lobby and Bed, Bath and Beyond.

Addison blocks: I purchased 4 inch blocks from AC Moore, painted them with acrylic craft paint and added the embelishments with a hot glue gun.  I found these on Etsy for $11 per block and decided to just make them myselff!

Favorite Items

My favorite items are the furniture.  It was important to find white furniture because I really wanted it to match the chair rail and white trim.  I knew the white furniture and trim would break up the pink and gray walls.  Plus I felt it went well with the elegance of the damask bedding.

My other favorite item is the Chancelier.  It's pink and perfect for my little princess' room!

Advice

My advice when creating a nursery is to first pick a bedding set or fabric and work off of that.  Choose colors and furniture styles that will match the fabric.

I love the pink and gray together, and the furniture is beautiful. Makes me wish I had a girl!

This is my favorite nursery! The colors are absolutely beautiful but my favorite piece is the crib & furniture. A nursery fit for a princess!
