Penelope’s nursery is calming and cozy in soft tones of grays and yellows, yet the woodland fairy tale elements make it an inspiring space that will encourage her to dream and use her imagination. A combination of new objects, like her gray suede rocker and white jenny lind crib, combine with old heirlooms and found objects, like her antique bird cage and yellow vanity, to create a timeless and comfortable feel.

My husband and I live in South Carolina, and recently welcomed our daughter, Penelope Joy, into the world on June 29, 2013. We filled our days impatiently waiting for her birth by getting her nursery perfect for her arrival. Now, it is our favorite place to play, read her stories before bed, and rock her to sleep at night.

Thanks Meghan! The paint colors are both Valspar. The gray on the walls is called Notre Dame (I LOVE this color, and used it in our entire house), and the yellow on the furniture is called Overjoy.

Do you mind sharing where you got the bookshelf from? We are looking for one exactly like that for our son’s nursery and love that yours is wooden instead of the cheapy Ikea looking ones.
