Patton’s Paradise

Description

This is my daughter's nursery.  The goal of the space was to have a sophisticated feminine feeling. The nursery is on the main living level of our home so the design was intended to flow with the rest of our living space.  The hallway outside the room is turquoise so this almost glowing pink/peach color for the walls looks beautiful from the hallway. In summary, I invested in good quality pieces which would last her for years.

Design Inspiration

The inspiration for the design came from the Wren Serena & Lily bedding which I had purchased years ago.  Since this was already purchased it became my inspiration. I found a rug and Galbraith & Paul fabric for window treatments which complimented the space and added visual interest with contrasting patters, colors and design.  I also already had the modern Netto Collection furniture from my son so I went with the idea of blending feminine pieces such as the chandelier, etagere, and gilt twig mirror to add a sophisticated girly touch.

Decorating Style

I personally like blending modern and traditional style.  We live a few blocks from the beach so I like colors naturally present around us such as blues from the ocean, tans from the sand and glowing peaches and pinks from the sunsets.

Favorite Items

My favorite items in the room is the painting that my sister Alexandra Frankel painted for my daughter.  I could have not purchased a more perfect piece for the room.  Second favorites are the rug, window treatments and mirror.  All four of these pieces will transition into her big girl room in a few years.

Advice

Keep your eye out on discount sites such as One Kings Lane, Joss and Main and Gilt Home for decorative accessories and rugs.  They always have specials on items which work wonderfully in nurseries and children's rooms.

Beautiful room! What's the name of the peachy pink wall color?

I don't know what it is but I am immediately drawn into this room. That fabric is simply stunning and I see that they have other designs that are just beautiful. I love this room, it's so clean and so different!

Where did you get the wooden tower thingy? That is a great addition to this room.

So pretty! I love the pink/peach color on the walls. It looks like the color that I used in Gracie's nursery. The window treatment is beautiful and is a good match with the crib bedding. Beautiful!
