Princess Nursery

My client wanted a nursery fit for a princess. She already had the furniture from her son’s nursery, but needed help pulling it all together and making it fit in the space without looking overcrowded. The nursery bedding was the starting point and inspired the rest of the space. Custom drapes, crown canopy, hamper liner, basket liners, diaper pail skirt, and glider pillow were all made to coordinate with the bedding. I especially love how the long and full drapery on the window and crown canopy give the space a flowing elegant feel. The shelves were custom made with a soft round profile and detailed brackets to continue with that flowing elegant feel. The chandelier and floor lamp both made from the same company have a custom pink rubbed finish with flower details. The end table in front of the window is actually an antique sewing table from my client’s grandmother that we had repaired and refinished. All accessories were chosen to follow the theme of elegance fit for a princess, from the perfectly textured floppy bunny, to the flowers in an antique vase on the end table.

DIY Teal & Yellow Dessert Buffet – Kites, Paper Planes & Balloons

We wanted to create a dessert buffet which would be the focal point of the party. Our plan worked because most of the photos with our guests were taken with the dessert buffet as the background. We didn’t want to spend a lot of money so we pretty much baked all the goodies ourselves! All we had were cakes, cupcakes, cake pops, cookies and pecan tassies. I originally made white and teal tags with the description of the baked goods, but we ran out of time and weren’t able to do everything we had hoped to do. This table does show that you don’t need to have a lot to create a nice dessert table…even keeping it simple works!
