Harlow’s Vintage Glam Nursery

I have always dreamed of the day I’d be able to design a baby girl nursery. Honestly, I never thought I would actually see that day, so when we found out Harlow was a girl, my heart fluttered with the thought of creating the perfect nursery for her. My Pinterest board exploded with oodles of inspo pics and I knew from the beginning that I wanted a statement wall… one that would be a total swoon factor when you walked in… so that is where I started and the rest kind of flowed in from there, piece by piece. I mixed in lots of texture and pulled colors from the vintage floral wallpaper. I also made sure to incorporate pieces that would remind me of my grandma, who gained her angel wings while Harlow was in my tummy, such as the sprinkles of eucalyptus, the pampas with their “angel wing-like” vibe, and her favorite color, green. While I splurged on some pieces in the room, like the gold floral mirror, I also mixed in quite a bit of inexpensive items that really make the room come to life.

Nash’s Nashville Inspired Nursery

With sweet little Nash Tucker being my 3rd boy-I wanted to do things different with his nursery. My first two boys had themes and there was just a lot to them so this time I wanted to have a somewhat “themeless” nursery and stick with the motto that less is more. This was an absolute challenge for me as I love themes and I love designing rooms that have themes so I had to think a little more outside the box this time.
Once we decided his name, I knew that I must have hints of Nashville included in his nursery. While my husband and I love Nashville (it’s actually one of our absolute favorite places) and country music…No-We did not name him after the city we just  simply loved the named Nash and knew it was the one from very beginning.
My inspiration was a country meets modern color scheme along with keeping the room neutral so he will be able to grow into it. I have always loved Buffalo Plaid Check patterns and it just so happened it was  super popular at the time. I needed to pick another solid base color that would mesh well with the black and white buffalo check patterns and that is where this pewter meets navy color came to life. Finally, I needed to use sliver or gold as an accent color and while at first I was drawn to silver, I decided to challenge myself and go with gold. I am not a HUGE fan of gold, I am more of a rose-gold gal but I knew that once I added all of these colors/patterns together-it would come to life. Pinterest was a huge inspiration for me as it always is! It truly made my vision of these colors come to life.
My favorite piece of any nursery is a name sign above the crib. This is the one item I put the MOST thought to as I feel it is always the focal point of a nursery. My husband and I were shopping at a local antique mall and we came across this large marquee light sign that had one of those famous lit up arrows that you will find at any bar in downtown Nashville. The the sign was advertising a George Straight show and I am convinced it was hand plucked from a bar in downtown Nashville back in the day. As much as I wanted this sign and immediately dreamed of way I could make it work- it was just too large for the wall in our nursery but that is when I knew I had to have Nash’s name in lights or a marquee lit arrow, so the search begin. I searched high and low for Marquee lit letters and arrows and could not find anything that I liked. I came across these black thin steel letters at hobby lobby and I just loved the way his named looked when spelled out with these letters. The search went on for a marquee lit arrow. After months and months of searching, I finally came across a company on Etsy that had exactly what I wanted and his name sign came to life!
This nursery is by far my most budget friendly nursery I have designed and I am super proud of it. It was a lot of DIY work at the hands of my handy husband. We put this nursery together in about 2 weeks all while adding an additional bedroom to our house and raising to other rambunctious boys-talk about crazy! I’ve listed all the deets below, hope you enjoy!

Lennon’s “Go Pink or Go Home” Nursery

I’m so excited to share my sweet Lenni girls nursery with you! When I first learnt that I was expecting a baby girl I was over the moon — one, because I finally get a forever princess and two, because I get to decorate a nursery for a girl!! I always said I’d have a neutral nursery no matter what the gender was, but as my pregnancy progressed and I started putting my vision boards together I gravitated more and more towards pinks. I decided to embrace the fact that I was having a girl and that I did I’m fact love pink!
First up was choosing the wallpaper for the accent wall — I wanted something fun and girly and something I wouldn’t get sick of. I also knew I wanted to put her name on the same wall so I needed something less busy. From there I added texture, with things like the suede mirror, feathery lamp, knitted ottoman and shaggy rug. At this point I was all in for the “girly” things — I found the most perfect gold bow knobs for the dresser and a hot pink (and white) dog for the side table. Then it was all about the added details. Styling the shelves was hard but I took my time to find the perfect pieces. Overall, I’m soooo happy with how the nursery turned out. It’s officially my favourite room in the house!

Zeno’s Room

Hello! Welcome to Zeno’s room :)
It’s a Montessori inspired bedroom and playroom all in one, since the size is quite generous and well, there is no extra room available 😅
I started planning the room when Zeno was 2.5 (he is now almost 3). I wanted everything to be at his reach so I observed how he interacted with the space and kept moving furniture and elements around until I found the right balance (lot’s of holes in the walls I had to patch 😂🤪 drill and re-drill!)
I wanted to be able to move things around a little bit to create some “new” play corners or areas based on his current interests or in case I wanted to surprise him with something new, like the little ZENO’S Market & Bistro corner 😬🥳
The furniture is almost all from Ikea (even the bed, I just had the legs cut at a DIY store 🤓), to spice-up a bit the overall clean and minimal look of the room I used wall stickers from Urban Kids Berlin on Etsy, I wanted uneven polka dots so their hand-drawn-stickers were perfect for my project! The carpets add a bit of color as well, they are both from Benuta. The main art-piece is called “Zenology” and it’s my original concept, illlustrated by the talented Alice from Musetto_Mini with the quirkiest words my son says and some of his favorite ones🤗😍 There are some botanical and zoological posters from Cavallini and of course some original art piece by the famous little Zeno 😅

Coastal Nursery with Stunning Paper Boat Wallpaper

This nursery was in dire need of brightness, function and FUN! My Clients already had so many great pieces, but they just weren’t working together cohesively.
We completely transformed the space by freshening up the wall colour, installing this wonderful paper boat wallpaper and selecting additional furniture and accessories that would really pull together a bright coastal vibe. The room now has a beautiful bookcase to display and store toys and accessories, a fun acrylic book ledge library, some large toy bins and tons of textural wall decor pieces, like the incredible blue ombre Lorena Canals wall hanging. The Captain art print really adds a nice pop of colour to the crisp white walls. We added a swan paper mobile above the crib, and I love how it floats gracefully in front of the wallpaper. Also, the various shades of blue that were sourced for the space add so much depth and tonality, seen in the adorable pehr cushion, narwhal crib sheet, light blue cushion in stitched Ellen Degeneres fabric and lamb knit doll.
Simplicity is always best conveyed when designing a space with purpose, and that’s just what we did. The result? A delicately coastal room that is calming, serene and perfectly practical for its’ sweet little resident.

A Sweet Pink & Gray Nursery for Fallon

Today we are sharing the sweetest baby girl nursery sent to us by Felicia Latchaw!  This family is obviously overjoyed with the new addition to their clan – a fourth baby girl!  A vintage floral print and accents of gray create a warm and welcoming room for baby Fallon.  Fallon is the 4th child in a family of 4 girls!  We are sure she will have plenty of big sister love!  For baby Fallon’s nursery, mom Felicia choose our Nostalgic Rose crib bedding including the white washed linen crib skirt, floral crib sheet and protective crib rail cover.  She personalized the rail guard by adding a monogram.  “Fallon” is embroidered with our popular Elite Cursive font in gray thread. The “Hello World, I’m Fallon” onsie is to-die-for with gold sparkle print, and coordinating hair bow is so sweet.  Our Nostalgic Rose Crib Sheet features a sweet floral print in pink tones with a hint of mint and is made of premium 100% cotton fabric.

Floral Girls Bedroom

I would like the room to be themed like spring , I also like the design. A couple of days ago I decided that my daughter bedroom needed a makeover. So we bought this amazing wallpaper from Coloray Polska, which is easy to apply and its like a sticker. Its also mess- free. We bought a bed from Ikea and the desk too. My boyfriend made these amazing shelves. We did this because she didn’t want a girly room any more she needed a teenage one. She is very Happy with her new room.

Emily’s Nursery

I am so so excited to share my sweet baby’s nursery with you guys! Fun fact – I knew I wanted this color blue (Upward by Sherwin Williams) in this nursery before I even knew the gender of my baby. So I was going to make it happen either way. I really wanted picture frame molding also but worried that it would be too feminine for a little boy. So let’s just say I’m super happy that we are having another little girl! And I love this blue mixed with the pale pops of pink! It’s exactly what I wanted and I’m so in love with every single detail.
I’ve worked with Mod Wood Co on several projects in the past for clients so when it was time for a project of my own, I knew I HAD to work with them again. I sent an inspiration image of what I was sorta thinking for over the crib and she knocked this custom name sign out and had it at my front door within days! I seriously can’t say enough about their company. They are the best! I’m so in love with the freestanding cut out of her name above the crib. And for the wreath, I simply just attached lambs ear garland around a macrame embroidery hoop.
I’m a firm believer in not skimping on your closets. They should be just as much a part of the room as anything else. And it’s another opportunity to have fun with design. This closet was certainly no different. I used this gorgeous floral wallpaper from Livette’s Wallpaper and it was everything I wanted and more! Their peel and stick wallpaper is super easy to use and they can customize the color to whatever you need. They’ll even match colors from brands like Sherwin Williams or Benjamin Moore. I went with a simple navy here just to make it pop against the lighter blue walls. I LOVE it!
I’m kind of shocked by the amount of people that are so interested in our mini door. Honestly, I wanted to kind of make it disappear so that’s where the idea of picture frame molding came from. I felt it would stick out too much if we were to keep the door white. So painting the trim, doors, and walls all the same color helped it blend in and not stick out. But soooo many people want to know all about this “magical door”. I wish I had a more exciting story but it’s just the entrance to our attic. And don’t worry, we put a lock on it so you can’t get in without a key. AND I made sure to have my husband put the deadbolt lock on the inside just in case little girls try to lock each other inside down the road one day 🙂
This nursery is so special to us and we can’t wait to meet our baby girl very soon! We hope you enjoyed this room tour!

Boho Nursery for a Boy!

When I found out I was having my 3rd boy I was a little disappointed haha, but ONLY because I really wanted to design a room for a girl with all the girly things! I was also really into the boho/rattan/neutral rainbows trend and all of that to me screamed girl. I went on a Pinterest hunt to find a boho nursery suited for boys and was a little underwhelmed. So I came to terms that this design will have to come completely from my own head (no pressure).
This room is small (6.5′ x 10.5′) and has no closet, so storage was key and most elements would need to play double duty to accommodate that. There are also two large windows that take up almost all of the wall space so even wall storage was limited. I knew my craigslist dresser would need to double as a changing table and finding an alternative to a closet was a must. I also found a petite side table that was perfect for storing late night feeding essentials as well as a beautiful, boho lamp.
One of my favorite elements we incorporated was the feature wall. I had seen similar walls in other designs but they were always painted a moody color (beautiful but not right for this space). I knew to keep the small room feeling as big as possible I needed to keep all the walls the same color, even more so because the wall color would already be broken up by the large windows. So I went with white on white and really loved how it turned out.
Layout was going to be tricky as I really wanted a chair included in the design. I knew a rocker would be out of the question, so something a little wider with a low profile is what I looked for. I found this beautiful rattan chair at Ikea.
As I started pulling in elements I wanted to be careful not to go too southwest looking or too feminine. As it started to come together I fell more and more in love and more and more excited for another incredibly special baby boy.
This is easily now my favorite room in the house and I often come in here to rest, decompress and just be still.

Vintage Nautical Nursery

I grew up spending my summers at our family’s lake house, always out on the water either sailing, swimming or water skiing. The lake is where my husband and I met and eventually got married. It’s nestled in a small town in northern Indiana where the pace is slow and the people are friendly. Growing up I remember my mom used to take me to antique shops around town to find special, one-of-a-kind items to use as decor in the lake house. Our lake house and the small town in northern Indiana inspired the theme for our first baby boy’s nursery. The only item I really splurged on was the crib, because I knew exactly what I wanted. The rest (dresser, side table, book chest, wall art) I found at antique or consignment shops and refurbished to make them match my vision. The best part about the room is that the wallpaper is original to the home (built in 1969!) and it is just perfect.

Field Flowers – metamorphosis from roses to flowers

I would like to show you the metamorphosis of my 4-year-old daughter’s room. From a room full of pink, change to a room with flower wallpaper which looks like spring meadow.. The installation of the wall mural was not complicated. Recommended installation is for 2 people, I installed it by myself within 4 hours. The result is a very satisfying for daughter.
This is a self-adhesive photo wallpaper FIELD FLOWERS. The self-adhesive wall mural is easy to install. No glue is needed to fix it on the wall. All you need to do is remove the protective film and then put the wallpaper in the right place. After applying the wallpaper to the wall, you still need to press it. If desired, the position of the self-adhesive wallpaper can also be easily improved.

Lennon’s First Launch

I think I began dreaming up this party when Lennon was 2 months old. I’d be holding him watching him sleep and thinking about the stir sticks in the cups on his 1st birthday. I am a sucker for details and it was extremely important to me that every detail be thought of. As soon as I walked into Little Play Society, I knew that was the place. It fit the aesthetic perfectly and included an activity space for the kids, which they absolutely loved. Throughout the year, I was gathering lots of inspiration off pinterest and instagram and stumbled upon a party that Malisa @creativeamme did for her daughter. I was so inspired and from that was born the Lennon’s face trace with his infamous smile. This kid is the smiliest kid there is and the trace of his smile depicted that perfectly. The details of this party were really the heart of it all, the balloon jetpacks for the kids, star and rocket shaped sandwiches, saturn shaped stir sticks, it was all a dream. Lennon’s launch party was out of this world. I tried to keep everything in the same color palette, the florist absolutely stunned with her beautiful yet boyish arrangements. The addition of the coffee cart and churro cart were so well received and obviously these were for mama. The churro sleeves had stamps of Lennon’s face and the coffee sleeves were customized to read Lennons First Launch. The Beat Buds entertained the kids with music and instruments. The kids were so happy. Lennon’s First Launch was truly a labor of love and I could not have done this without my friendors.

Bohemian Woodland Nursery with Laura Law & Tin Design

My husband and I decided not to find out the sex of our baby, so it was important that our nursery be suitable for both little boys and girls. We live in a victorian cottage, and I like to keep the decor vintage- style, but with a modern twist; restoring the original features where possible.
We enlisted the help of a brilliant interior designer, Trudy Cross (who owns online shop- Tin Design) to help us with some ideas. After listening to our brief, she came up with a mood board, packed full of creative ways in which we could style our nursery.
She suggested that we paint the ceiling blush pink and use a deep blue for the wardrobe. The walls were given a fresh coat of white paint. We already had a crushed velvet mint cocktail chair that I wanted to use and the colours worked well together.
We stripped back our old carpet and restored and painted the original floorboards white. As the floorboards are over 100 years old, they have a real rustic look to them, which I think adds character. My husband was concerned that it might feel ‘cold’ without carpet, but an oatmeal coloured rug added texture and made the room more cosy.
The showstopper is without doubt the wallpaper, which I discovered on Instagram. The woodland theme is so strikingly beautiful and quite magical, I’d be happy to have it in my own bedroom!
For storage I wanted natural looking baskets. These ones from Rocket St George are great as they come with lids, which keep the contents contained and tidy looking. We already had the wooden ottoman and I made the colourful crochet blanket on top myself.
My mother in law treated us to the wooden cot, which we bought online at and I bought the mustard canopy (at a fraction of the price of many others I’ve seen) from Amazon.
I’m an avid reader, and so for my baby shower, my friends and family bought their favourite childhood stories for the new baby. We decided to display the books facing outwards on picture ledges to add colour to the room.
All the room needs now is some colourful artwork to finish it off.

Serene White Gray and Blush Nursery for Baby Girl

When I learned I was expecting a baby girl this winter, I was so excited to work on her nursery! I envisioned something neutral with subtle feminine touches. So when I came across this delicate gray and white wildflower wallpaper, I knew it was perfect! It was a literal labor of love as I installed the wallpaper myself with my growing belly in tow. From there, I added texture with things like the woven window treatments, wooden chair, and rug. I was also able to get that hint of “girly” I was looking for with the blush moroccan pouf, the light pink cheeks of the raffia lion on the wall, and some of the throw pillows. I’m so happy with how the nursery turned out. I took my time choosing every detail and it makes me smile every time I walk in there.

Modern & Playful Nursery

The moment we found out we were expecting our second girl we were undecided about the room situation, we first thought our two daughters (16 months apart ) would share a room and have the “other” room (which was a lot smaller) as their playroom. After some thought, we decided to make the small room baby #2’s very own nursery but knew I had to get creative on how to make it look larger and brighter.
The room has a slanted ceiling that makes it feel cozy but darker. In addition, one entire side of the room has built-in shelves that I really wanted to tear out – I’m glad I didn’t.
I began with the colorful and bright watercolored triangle wall decals and went from there. I went with a white & neutral sleek crib so it didn’t take up too much space and bought a simple-minimal white changing table, instead of a dresser that would seem bulkier and make the room look smaller. I found colorful bins to insert on the shelves and utilize them as drawers and my husband (after numerous failed attempts) found this beautiful rug, which is simple and neutral yet carries a pop of color that contributed to the cheerful vibe. We couldn’t be happier with our rainbow-burst and playful nursery for our 2nd baby girl.

Tex’s Beachy Bright Nursery

When I was pregnant, my husband and I transformed the ugliest room in our house, a small beige-on-beige spare room we had used for storage, into our son’s beautifully inviting nursery. As I sat in the middle of the vanilla box of a room, next to the mysterious carpet stain that had been there when we moved in, I pondered, how can we create a peaceful but playful space? What can we do that will be perfect for our newborn baby but will also age well as he grows? How can we maximize the organization of the room so everything has a place? How can we charge our baby’s space with cheerfulness and positivity? And how can we do all of the above on a budget?
Inspired, I sketched a rough design of what the room looked like in my daydreams (turns out it did not match the reality of the dimensions of the room whatsoever…ha!). I developed a color palette of blues, whites, and pops of bright color. We did not know the sex of our baby until he was born, so we aimed for gender neutral.
The wallpaper mural of the coast, that looks like an actual photo of our local beach, served as the focal point, and inspiration for the room. My husband painted the walls a crisp white to compliment the mural, and painted the interior doors and closet a glossy tropical aqua to add some pizzazz. The extra aqua paint was used to paint several Ikea spice racks that we fashioned into bookshelves (thanks Ikea Hacks on Pinterest). We had the carpet removed and replaced with Red Oak. We replaced the dated ceiling fan and fluorescent closet light with affordable modern fixtures.
Organization was super important to the design, so we installed a sleek custom Ikea PAX storage unit, equipped with two wardrobes for hanging clothes, drawers, and tons of nooks for books and toys. We wanted the unit to be future proof, so we considered what our baby would need now, and 10 years from now (hence the full-size shoe rack and removable second tier clothes rack).
We didn’t want to spend too much money on the temporary things, so we opted for a simple modern crib, changing table, and a no-frills rocking chair (that fit both of our butts together so we can sit and read as a family). We painted the rocker legs white to tie in with our color palette. We layered in whimsical touches, like colorful hanging hot air balloons, custom lemon-patterned roman blackout shades, and a hand-stitched nautical mobile. We gave our baby the mailbox from our wedding, for the letters we would write him each year. A 5-button outlet remote controls all of the lights in the room individually, so at night the soft sleepy glow of the marquee dream light is only a click away. Every detail was considered, from the art on the wall, to the crystal ball closet door knob, glittery light switch plate, and tiny velvet hangers. Everything was chosen to have a sparkle of sweetness. The messages are all intentional, “don’t worry be happy”, “dream” and “love”, all things we wish for our sweet baby boy! I’m happy to report that he loves his room!

Parisian Madeline Themed First and Third Birthday Party

I have always loved Paris since I was a little girl, and wanted to throw a Parisian themed party for my girls. When I was pregnant with my third, my friends surprised me with a Madeline baby sprinkle. I decided to pull in that theme for a joint party for my two youngest. I love pinks and blues, so veered away from the typical yellow, royal blue and red colors for the party. I wanted a good mix of Madeline theme but also just Parisian elements.
I had a vision for a balloon invitation and a party filled with colorful balloons as well. My friend, Monica who owns Paper Flour Ink, is incredibly talented and designed the invitations, as well as the welcome mat, backdrops and the beautiful Laduree cake. I was so thrilled with every detail! I shared more details on my blog here.
