Boho Space Themed Nursery

My goal was to keep the nursery as calm and neutral as I could, since the rest of our house is bold and colorful. I knew I wanted blue to be the main color, and fell in love with the watercolor moon crib sheet I found. I initially wanted a wallpaper accent wall, but came across the space decals and decided to spread them throughout the room. The room is constantly evolving as baby grows.

Bowen and Beckett’s Adventure Room

My boys are 2 years apart and as soon as my youngest was out of the crib I wanted my boys to share a room! After having toddler beds for a few years, it was time to upgrade to twin beds. I immediately knew I wanted a black metal bed for my boys and a pop of color! That was my starting point. I also wanted to use as much from both of their nurseries as possible because I still loved the woodland/mountain/outdoor theme but wanted to add a NEW color to change it up a bit! I found a vintage washed green quilt from the target pillowfort collection and knew that was the color I wanted to use. My advice would be find the items you really love that make the room unique but don’t feel like you have to buy everything brand new to create an entirely different look! I try to buy decor items that can grow with my kids and can be used for a long time. For an example, when I got their toddler bed comforters I already had in mind that I would use them across the end of a twin bed one day! Take a look at Beckett’s Adventure Nursery and Bowen’s Woodland Nursery to see all of the items I incorporated from their nurseries into their big boy room!

Henry’s New Traditional Haven

As a small, family-owned business, we’re passionate about incorporating unique finds by other small and local businesses into our designs. In Henry’s nursery, the handmade bunting flag and vintage toy boat were the perfect finishing touches to his reading nook.  We kept the pale blue and white palette light and bright and then added warmth through cognac leather and cozy textures.

Ellie’s Safari Nursery

This is my first babies nursery. I wanted to do a modern safari theme. My goal was to make it gender neutral, although she is a girl, so I did add floral for her crib sheet. I chose the dark green accent wall because it always seemed so beautiful to me in pictures. I’m so glad I went with the bold color. My advice would be to go with your gut, and do the nursery you want for your baby! It makes it so much more special and meaningful when you see all of your ideas come to life.

Mid Century Modern Race Car Nursery

Links and more room information is in the link above!
I am so excited to share our mid-century modern nursery with you! This was quickly our favorite room in the house and we are using it to inspire us to decorate the rest of the house! The rest of the house is defining another Parker Project in the works currently! The vibe I wanted in the nursery was a mid-century modern feel with a splash of race cars! I think I accomplished this vibe if I do say so myself! I hope you enjoy taking a tour through the room and get all the feels and inspirations!
From the moment we found out Rhys was a boy I knew his nursery would have something to do with cars. My husband Brad is a huge race car fan. Specifically, Formula One Racing. Over the years I have become a fan too! I also knew it would be a mid-century modern nursery as that is the style we have throughout the rest of our house or plan to have as we work through updates!
If I could give any advise it would be to keep it simple and stay true to your original design and ideas. It is hard to stay focused because these days new ideas are always all around us. Make a plan, stick to it, and your dreams will come true! There is nothing worse than an unfinished project!

Lyla Rose’s Nursery

I have always loved baby nurseries since I was a little girl, so this was finally my chance to decorate my own! I wanted a traditional nursery with a touch of romance so I included florals, pinks and soft, velvety textures. I wanted to add personal touches around the room and did this by adding photos and keepsakes from our past. I wrote out the lyrics to our wedding song, Life’s Been Good by Joe Walsh, and hung them above the crib and also framed photos of my mother and husband’s mother from when they were young, and hung them in the corner near the changing table/dresser.

Arts & Crafts Colorful Playroom

About a year ago we moved my hubby’s home office to the basement and dedicated his old office to house Lily’s growing collection of toys. I wanted to design it right away but life, work, and all the things got in the way. One year later it is finally done! Check out Lily’s brand new arts and crafts themed playroom!

Magical Nursery Design

Designing nurseries and spaces for kids is one of my greatest passions! I love creating happy places for littles to thrive, grow and learn! My 3-year old Lily absolutely loves her secret garden themed room and I just finished up her colorful playroom makeover a few months ago. Her eyes light up whenever she is in her spaces that were designed just for her. I was determined to bring that same magic to Baby Isabella’s nursery. To create that special space and bring the magic…. I decided to make the theme “magic” and fill the room with all the magical things that sparkle… unicorns, rainbows, mermaids, clouds and dreamy colors!

Summer’s nature

I tried to stick to earthy tones with a hint of bohemian. I found a lot of furniture pieces from natural materials such as rattan, wood, bamboo. I also tried to incorporate nature into the room because my baby will be born in the winter time. I used clouds as floating shelves and humidifier, sun-shaped mirror on top of the dresser and a rainbow. I also did a small DIY by drying eucalyptus from Trader Joes and covering it with mod podge so it would retain its color as it dried. I wanted a neutral theme without too much color popping so I did a boho accent wall to finish it off. Lastly, I included a bit of home with my Toronto muslin swaddle to reflect where we grew up.

Safari Slumbers

This is a nursery nook as it is shared with the master bedroom. Even still, I wanted to make sure the baby had it’s own space which was a cute as possible while still fitting the entire master bedroom vibe.
I used removable animal print decals on the wall so when the baby moves out of this space, the parents can simply remove them to have their adult space back. Because this room was going to be shared with adults, I chose a generally neutral pallet with a pop of green/turquoise color to support my safari theme.
The rug from Ruggable really completes the space. It’s bold pattern activates the room and provides a whimsy yet sophisticated design to the space.

Parisian Inspired Nursery

I am due with my first child on 2/3, a little girl named Vivienne (Vivi for short). My inspiration piece was the Medina wallpaper from @anewalldecor. I love how bohemian and eclectic it is! From there, I found the French inspired antique white crib and matching changing table from RH Baby, and the rest of the design seamlessly fell into place! Some of the artwork on the walls were sourced from local boutiques in my hometown of Memphis, TN. Pottery Barn Kids was my other retailer for her bookshelf, diaper caddy, and bedding items such as the crib sheet and Monique Lhuillier blush bed skirt. A photo of my later mother is hanging atop her bedroom door, to keep watch over her and protect her. The navy corner hutch is a piece my late grandfather built in the 1980s, that my husband and I refinished in 2020. We are just in love with how this space turned out, and can’t wait to meet our little bundle of joy oh so soon!!

Adventure Nursery

Baby number two will be here any day and his nursery is officially move-in ready!
When we found out baby #2 would be a boy I couldn’t wait to get started on his nursery. So I did what anyone would do – I went on Pinterest. I found a mountain scene décor that sparked the “adventure” theme idea, and from there it just grew.
This room is an odd size (long and thin) and so I had to create a few different areas for the room. My husband and I wanted the focal point of the room to be a mountain tree mural, so I designed it and we projected it on the wall and traced it. My husband mixed and painted the scene and it turned out pretty perfect. The room was already painted a light mossy color so we wanted the other shades of green we used to complement that shade. We ended up getting a light beige/grey color for the top/light color and emerald green for the second to last green color. From there we added green to the beige/grey and black to the green to get different shades.
The teepee is the one part of this room that my husband is not quite fond of (he thinks it doesn’t quite go with the adventure theme) I however disagree – and I’m the decorator…so I won. We needed something to fill the space in this corner, so I found a design to make a teepee and got to work. The plush campfire adds that little extra touch and pop of color, and hopefully this space will be a fun play area as Baby gets older.
I struggled with what to put on the wall behind the teepee and went back and forth with different ideas. I started with canvas designs, then moved to branch décor, mountain light décor, and back to canvas designs. I wanted another way to add a pop of that orange color to that side of the room. So I designed 6 adventure-themed images and voilà! Gets the job done and can be changed easily enough if I find something else I like better.
The cabinet was originally purchased to put my crafting stuff in (as this room use to be my craft space), but I got a different storage unit for Christmas so now it holds extra baby supplies, diapers, wipes, etc. It’s not necessarily ideal, but it adds some leveling to this side of the room. I knew what I wanted trees and a lantern (which we plan on using as baby’s nightlight) on the cabinet, but the wall above the cabinet was another one I struggled with. I had a lot of wall décor to use and had searched on Pinterest for wall ideas, but everything looked so cluttered and I wanted to have a full yet clean look. I had purchased the bear head and a fox head but it was just too much with both of them on the wall and I couldn’t find the right balance with the taller trees on the cabinet. Eventually, I found the set of arrows that helped give balance to the bear head and taller trees.
The other side of the room is probably my favorite space in the room. My husband asked me if there was anything I wanted this time around that we didn’t have with our daughter, and the first thing I said was that I wanted a comfortable chair/glider. We had a wooden rocking chair with a tiny bit of padding in my daughter’s nursery (which was an itty bitty room compared to this one), so I knew I wanted something comfortable for late-night feedings or somewhere relaxing to just sit and rock with Baby.
I got a side table next to the chair with easy access to store burp cloths, nursing supplies, etc., (which I’m keeping in the adorable bear bin) so I went with a little cube storage as a side table. I also purchased, what I think, is the most ingenious thing for the baby’s room, a tiny mini-fridge. My daughter was both breast and bottle-fed so that my husband and I could split feeding duties, and (lucky for us) she also drank breast milk straight out of the fridge; so I got a mini-fridge that we could keep in Baby’s room so my husband doesn’t have to trek all the way downstairs to the kitchen in the middle of the night to grab a bottle (and in case baby #2 doesn’t take milk straight out of the fridge the mini-fridge can also stay warm instead of cold).
Do you know how hard it is to find a specific colored lamp? I was trying to find an emerald green lamp base to go on the side table but was coming up empty-handed. I thought about getting a grey one but then decided with the grey chair and the weathered grey side table it would be too much grey. So I ended up getting a clear lamp base and put pinecones in to add a little something to it.
The wall décor above the chair I had picked out early on, but how to hang it up was where I struggled. I originally wanted to do canvas prints, but couldn’t get the sizes I wanted at an affordable price. I went back and forth with the hanging frames, just because it seemed like it was going to be a tight fit and thought it might look too squished on the wall. Overall it worked out and looks great in this corner.
Once we figured where the chair would go and which wall the crib would be on I knew I needed a pretty long dresser to fill the large empty wall. I also wanted a dresser long enough to double as a changing table. Ikea had some of the longest dressers at the price point I wanted, so it was Ikea for the win.
Above the dresser was the easiest spot to decorate. My favorite piece of décor is the wall compass. I had seen a setup over the dresser with a mirror and floating shelves on Pinterest, but I didn’t necessarily need a mirror in the baby’s room, so I found this awesome compass from Wayfair which adds that perfect adventure touch.  The floating shelves helped give me a nice higher spot to put my Project Nursery monitor, as well as add a few more adventure décor pieces.
The final piece in the nursery is the blanket ladder. Giving it’s’ winter in the midwest, I figured we might want a few blankets to grab and snuggle up with. While I wanted blankets nearby I didn’t solely want blankets on the ladder. It took a few purchases to find baskets that were tall enough to sit on the rung below and stay upright. Right now I have books in the baskets but can change what they hold as needed.
So what I started to piece together last year in October is finally done and ready for baby, whenever he decides to make his grand entrance. I love how the room turned out and think it will be a great space with décor that will last as he grows.

Hoopstar Playroom

I chose this project because a ton of our kiddos are schooling virtually and so much of how they perform depends on environment.  I love that this playroom is dual functioning with a desk area for today’s virtual learning and a bean-bag lounge area for breaks.  This project is inspired by my client’s love for basketball so it’s a locker room theme.  When designing a playroom my advice would be storage, storage, and more storage!!  The lockers were a Facebook marketplace fine with a DIY repaint.  They tie in the locker room theme, but also give great storage!

Little Baby Girl Nursery

Decorating a child’s room is quite a challenge for parents. In our case we used the Thoughtful and Romantic
removable wallpaper. It is a product that make a child’s room full of peace and security.
The wall murals are printed on MagicStick – innovative, self-adhesive material, which allows them to be applied and peeled multiple times!
Wallpaper is 100% removable- it means it can be removed or repositioned when needed without damaging the surface beneath. It’s a very good quality matte material, its structure reminds of a cloth fabric. I can guarantee you will love it as well!
