Description

Nursery for my unborn son, Owen.

Design Inspiration

I really liked the alligator madras themed nursery by Pottery Barn but there was not way I was going to spend that type of money.  So I started with the color orange and then it grew into something very different from the Pottery Barn look.

Decorating Style

Simple, functional, lots of color. :)

Project Details

DIY mobile- $25.00

DIY bedding (curtains and bedskirt)- $60

DIY frames and art- $90

DIY repurposed crib, two dressers with hutch, and bookshelf- $80

Favorite Items

I really love the wall mural above his crib.  It was fun to make! It's not completely finished, as some of the frames need items added once he is born (thumbprint art and newspaper clipping from the day he's born).

Advice

Find inspiration from a room that may be more expensive that you love but don't get caught up in making it look exactly the same as that room.  It won't- which is why you are going to be saving money.  You can still make it look just as good, but at a fraction of the price!

Nice room with a warm and cozy feel. I wonder how this really looks like though with natural lighting.
