Our little girl’s nursery

Description

This is our 3rd and final baby and our first little girl. I was so excited to go all out girlie for this one! That is why the main color is pink!

Decorating Style

Shabby chic and anything that I love will do.

Project Details

This room was created on a small budget and I think it came together well. My final total for this room was about $400. That includes the flooring which we found on clearance at lumber liquidators.

The dresser was found on the side of the road by my mother in law and my husband refinished and painted the dresser. I distressed the dresser by just using sand paper. Then we added the flower knobs from our local hobby lobby store. The Purple flower chalk board was found at a flea market. I spray painted it and then added chalk board paint to the center of the frame. The Chair was my youngest son's I had the cover for the chair made by our aunt.

The large cabinet next to the chair was purchased off craigslist for $25 and we then repainted the cabinet pink. I modge podged the floral paper into the back for some extra personality. I think it turned out great! I am still working on exactly how to decorate the shelves.

The area rug was found at our local BJ wholesale store on clearance for $7.50 . It's not exactly what I wanted for the carpet in the room but I think it really brought in some great color and personality.

The crib is a jenny lind inspired crib in the cherry finish. I bought it from CSNbaby.com and I am very pleased with the way it looks, how sturdy it is and the price was even better. The tiered ruffled crib skirt was hand made by my husbands Aunt! She really is amazing and the skirt brought the room together and is one of my favorite things in the room.

The curtains were purchased from lowes along with the curtain rod. The framed art was also purchased at our local hobby lobby at 50% off so I got them both for a total of $30!!

Favorite Items

The crib and hand made crib skirt are my favorite items in the room. The purple floral chalk board is also my favorite.

Advice

Just do what you can even with a small budget you can create a great space like mine. Most of my items are curb side and flea market finds.

Lovely little room. I like the traditional touch of the crib and the slim shelf.
